"Jimin can you start getting scene 3's actors ready, I think scene 2 will be finished in a few more shots," I say into my walkie-talkie
"No problem Baram, don't overwork Chan I don't wanna have to redo his makeup." Jimin chuckled on the other side
"No promises." I chuckle back
I take a seat next to my cameraman, Jay, a guy from my class that offered to help out. We started recording the film and the experience feels so tranquil so far.
It has only been about 3 weeks of finding everyone to fill in spots, go over the script to make any edits, and start practicing scenes. Also getting camera people, lighting and sound operators, PA's, and my music team on the right track for each scene.
Most of the Stray kids guys are main actors, Seungmin decided he wanted to be my assistant and I could never say no to that boy. Changbin is helping the music majors with background music so I won't need to buy the right to anything. Felix is also helping with the lighting crew. Park Jimin, Seungmin's study friend is helping with makeup, hair, and outfits. She has a real gift in makeup, I'd trust her with my life honestly.
"Cut! Jeongin we talked about this you need to slam the locker and aggressively drag Chan away!" I shout from my chair looking at my script.
"I know Baram, but I can't just drag Chan hyung by the collar just cuz I'm taller than him. He can beat me up if he wanted to!" He whined back
"Jeongin it's fine let loose, I'm not your hyung in the film." Chan chuckles putting a hand on the boys shoulder
I sigh and walk onto the set up the boys.
"Jeongin, Chan's character just stomped on your best friends heart and you're sick of him. It doesn't matter what your fit is, you're enraged." The boy just nods his head, I sigh. "Ok how about I show you how to do it? Go sit over there." Jeongin takes my script and sits on the side somewhere"What was the last line?" I whisper to Chan
"Oh.. I last said, "and then I left her there! She was so clingy what'd she expect from me?""
Baram walks to the locker opening it, takes a deep breath, and signals for Chan to go again.
"...and then I left her there! She was so clingy what'd she expect from me?" He said to Minho and Woojin who were playing Chan's jock friends
Baram shoved some papers back into the locker and slams the prop locker very hard. Everyone on set stops what they're doing and stares at her. She slowly peers over at Chan with a look of pure hatred on her face, shaking slightly from "anger". She marches over to the boy.
"We need to talk.." she roughly grabs onto the boys' shirt and drags him off of set toward Jeongin
"That's how you do it, and that's the end of scene 2." She let's go of Chan and stretches out her arms
"In the film you're characters are the same age, no honorifics here ok? Don't stress out and just put yourself in the scene." She says then grabs her script from Jeongin
"I-ok.." Jeongin sighs
Everyone in the area starts clapping.
"Omg Baram that was amazing! Why aren't you an acting major?" Jay comes running up to her
A crowd of actors and set crew swarm the girl with questions and compliments.
"I never thought you could do that!" One girl said
"You looked so strong! Chan didn't even fight back!"
Baram just blushed, "I took acting classes in high school. You can't be a director without knowing how to express what you feel others should feel.. Ok ok everyone get back to your stations! I want you guys to go over this scene once more before we record it!" Quickly everyone followed suit and the actors performed the scene beautifully.
