Wiccan and Speed

William's mind flashed and flared with red light as he screamed. "WILL!" his brother, Tommy, screamed. He heard Wanda and Pietro beg for them to stop.
"They're only five!"
"Please, stop!"
Will was thrown off the table and Tommy was brought up. "No, stop," he said weakly. "Don't hurt him." Wanda held the young boy close, covering his ears so he wouldn't hear his twin's screams of pain.

Ten Years Later

Will and Tommy were finally liberated from the HYDRA building. And, sure enough, Wanda was there. But Will didn't see Pietro anywhere. Tommy zoomed around, faster than the eye could see, and rapped a man with a bow and arrow on the head. "You didn't see that coming?" he said, repeating Pietro's catchphrase. Wanda embraced them both. "Where's Pietro?" Tommy asked.
Wanda bowed her head. A red man put his hand on her shoulder. "He was killed saving Clint's life nine years ago."
"Clint?" Will asked. The man pointed to the archer. "Well, come on, then." Wanda said. "Let's get back home." On what they called the Quinjet, the twins overheard the others talking. "Why did we save them?"
"Are you kidding me? Clint, they were experimented on, just like Pietro and I."
"Wanda, how do we know we can trust them?"
"Vis, listen, trust me on this."
Wanda came into the room. "Okay, when we get back home, we are going to the training grounds immediately so you can learn to control your powers. I can help Will-" "It's Wiccan," Will said. "And Tommy is Speed." "Fine, then, I can help Wiccan and Vis-Vision, that is- will help out Speed."

Wanda's heart ached. Tommy and Will were not the boys she'd known before. Yet she knew that deep inside Tommy was the the little boy who had run after Pietro until he could jump on his back, and Will  still knew Wanda's favorite trick to do with him: a rabbit in a hat. But they had changed. Whatever HYDRA had done to them, it had changed them. But there was one question: Had they been changed for better or for worse?
