Diego sat in his car waiting for something to happen. It had been a slow week on the police scanner. Nothing really exciting had happened except for your basic drunken driver and dumb teens. Diego turned up the radio a little bit louder and a few minutes later the police scanner went off. A man's voice came over. "We have a dead man on the alleyway between Jackson's and Ellwood. Tall black hair, and surrounded by pill bottles. We can't be sure but pretty sure he overdosed." Diego heard these type of calls all the time but his system never changed. He always would go to the second and check if Klaus is there. Out of all the siblings Klaus is the only one he could tolerate, and actually liked having as a brother. He pulled the car in reverse and pulled out of the parking lawn of the mall that he was in front of. He started driving down to the crime scene. He parked his car like to buildings away from the scene and began the short walk down into the alley. There were two cops standing over a body. Crap they were blocking the person. He began to try to move to get a better angle and that's when one of the cops turned around. "excuse me sir you can't be he-oh Diego how many times have I told you, you cant come to crime scenes. Diego stared at her before he turned his eyes to the body and his heart stopped. He could only see some of it, but the umbrella tattoo on the guy's arm was enough. "Diego you can't be here. Diego can you hear me."But Diego wasn't listening he started walking towards the body. That was Klaus lying on the ground. He always went to these not ever thinking it would actually be Him but here was his brother lying dead in the middle of an alleyway, by himself. Diego dropped to his knees and lifted his hand to check Klaus' pulse. Not a single thing. His hand moved from Klaus' neck to his chest. "Klaus, Klaus you gotta wake up. Klaus you idiot. Ethier, you're gonna wake up or I'm gonna wake you up. Klaus comes on. Klaus, please. Klaus."Patch slowly began walking up to Diego. He was pumping his hands down on Klaus' chest. "Kla-Kla, K-k- ple."Diego's stutter was coming back and it was worse than ever, but Diego didn't notice and he cared about was his brother in front of him. Diego kept on beating Klaus' chest but nothing was happining. Soon Diego's broken attempt's at words just became nonsense of pleases, Klaus and broken sobs. Patch lowered to her knees and put her hand on Diego, They may not be together anymore but she still cared about him, hell she still loved him and he had told her all about Klaus. Klaus was one of the few people who Diego ever spoke positively about who was actually in his family. Diego made no show that he even knew that her hand was on his shoulder. Then the paramedics arrived. Patch grabbed Diego's shoulders and had him look at her. "Diego the paramedics are here. They're gonna do all they can okay." Deigo nodded. It hurt to see the tears streaming down his face. She had hardly ever seen him really upset. Of course, he got annoyed, but he was never really sad or crying like he was now. The Paremdictis lifted Klaus into the ambulence. Patch brought Diego over and told the paramedic that Diego was Klaus' brother. They let Diego into the ambulance and Patch got herself in by showing her badge. She knew that Diego was going to need some emotional support. They placed a breathing mask on him. and walked to the other side to grab the bag that had the defibrillator in it. The paramedic began using the defibrillator on Klaus. Patch grabbed Diego's hand and squeezed it lightly just showing him that she always had him. The paramedic kept bringing the defibrillator down on Klaus but with each one nothing was happining. Klaus stayed the same unmoving mass that she found him in. With each attempt, Diego's hand tightened Into Patch's. The tears continued rolling down his cheeks. Then on the fifth time, Klaus jumped up. Diego and Patch each jump a little bit back into the side of the Ambulance. Klaus' shoulders were shaking. But the sound coming out of his mouth was something that no one would expect from a man that just met death. He was laughing. He took off his air mask while shacking. Then he high fived the paramedic sitting opposite of Diego and Patch. That's when he turned around to see Patch and Diego. That smile and laughter dropped from his face real quick. Klaus stood up and hugged Klaus."Hey, hey, Diego I'm fine. Really look at me I'm good as new.""Don-d- D- again."Klaus looked down like he was surprised that someone cared so much. His face softened into true brotherly love."Hey buddy, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I won't do it aging. I promise."After a few minutes, Diego sat back down and tried to compose a few sentences. " Klau, Klaus you need to stop, Were not kids anymore. You don't have Ben or me always there to save your butt. You really need to get sober.""I will. I swear."Klaus had no idea that Diego was going to make sure Klaus kept his word no matter how much time it took.
