*** A/N. Hi all! Well here is chapter eight. I am really spinning out these chapters. This what happens when I have a few days off of work lol.

Anyway this chapter becomes a lot more intricate with detail and begins to explain the story and background of Madison and her involvement with the Vampires. I hope you like it. See you on the flip side. ***

** Madison POV **

I couldn't believe it. Nicholai was gone. He had left me. It had been quite some time since he had left me, alone in this hotel room in the middle of Europe. It was now getting dark outside and I had no idea how I was going to get home. I had no money and no phone. I hated him for leaving me like this. He was a coward, a gutless, evil coward. I pulled myself up off of the floor and decided I would stay here for the night and decide tomorrow what my next move was and how I would get home. I was not safe here alone, Nic had told me as much before he left. I could possibly ask at the hotel reception if they would let me use their phone to call home. My mother would know what to do. I crawled into the bed and closed my eyes, thinking of how stupid I had been. I had begun to trust Nic, I thought he cared for me. I was wrong. Years of being on my guard, never letting anybody in, never knowing who to trust and the one time I do open up my heart just a little bit I get burnt. Never again. My heart would remain a “no go area” to any man, especially a Vampire.

I was just drifting off to sleep after hours of mentally beating myself up at my stupidity when I heard a knock at the door. I sprung out of bed hoping it would be Nic and he had come back to me, full of sorrys. I switched on the light and tugged the door open with force nearly toppling backwards. I regained my balance and looked up expecting to see Nic but instead stood a man, a man I had not seen before. I knew he was not a Vampire, the last few days had given me a crash course in the physical attributes of the Vampire race. This man was not much taller than me. He was young looking, possibly even younger than me, I would of said no older than eighteen. He carried a grace and air about him that made him seem a thousand years old despite his young appearance. He had blonde hair that curled behind his ears and rested on his shoulders. His eyes were a colour I had never seen before. They were violet with a black ring around the outside. They were truly mezmerizing, I almost envied the beauty of them. He was pale, almost as pale as the Vampires but his skin had an iridescent glow that appeared to change colour as the light of the room hit his face, like soap bubbles. He was dressed formally in a white suit with a black shirt and tie underneath.

“Hello...Madison.” I stopped grazing my eyes over his appearance, taking him all in and looked up as he spoke my name. “My name is Alexander, may I have a moment of your time?” I could not place his accent, it was not strong but still there.

“Erm...who are you?” I asked, closing the gap between myself and the door, suddenly aware of a strange man outside my hotel room.

“I am a friend of your fathers.” He had a kind voice. My heart tugged at the mention of my father. “Please, I can explain everything. May I come in?” He gestured to the door.

“How do I know I can trust you?” I was sure I'd said that before.

“I will not harm you Madison. I have answers for you that will make this situation a lot clearer to you.”

“I trusted someone before and this is where it got me, alone in a foreign country.” My voice cracked as I thought of Nicholai.

“I have come to take you home Madison, I have already sent for your mother and protectors. I am not a Vampire, I will not harm you.” I opened the door reluctantly allowing the stranger entrance into my hotel room hoping I wasn't about to be once bitten, twice shy.

“You said you were taking me home, if that is true why have you sent for my mother?” I asked, confused at his choice of words.

“Dublin is not your home Madison. It is a place you escaped to, to hide from the Vampire hunters that have pursued you over the past seven years.”
