Kickback
— C A M I
A fire blazed before us, illuminating everyone's faces against the darkness. I was now changed into an oversized shirt and track shorts, sitting between Nic and Jake on the cold concrete of our back patio. Music played softly from a speaker by the door as we all conversed among ourselves and I leaned my head back onto Bri's legs as I listened to everyone. Bri was sat in a lawn chair behind me, Dom next to her. I had made it a point to invite him over, of course with the the help of Nic.
"Lets play truth or dare." Nic speaks, catching everyone's attention. About fifteen people were sat around the fire, but only a few agree to play while the rest went inside for more drinks. Nic, Bri, Dom, Jake, two of Bri's friends and I all scoot closer together next to the fire. "I'll go first. Bri, truth or dare?" She asks our roommate.
"Dare." Bri responds confidently. She swirls her cup around as Nic thinks, taking a sip of it. I notice Jake staring at me out of the corner of my eye and I can't help but smirk softly. My eyes meet his and we hold eye contact for a moment before looking away.
"I dare you too..." Nic trails off while looking around the circle. "kiss Dom." She smirks. Bri's eyes widen slightly as she chokes on her drink. The girls don't see it, but a small smile comes to Dom's face. Bri turns her head to look at him out of skepticism before he grabs her face and smashes their lips together. Nic and I cheer with large smiles on our faces, high giving each other. Bri pulls away with a deep red blush on her cheeks, a smile on Dom's face.
Next it went to Bri's friend Carly who dared Dom to jump into the pool, and the questions continued around the circle until it landed on Bri. Her eyes landed on me with a smirk on her lips, quickly darting to look at Jake who wasn't paying any attention before back to me.
"Truth or dare?" Bri asks. I can tell by the look on her face that either way isn't going to go down well for me. I think for a moment before answering with a quiet 'truth' and she smiles triumphantly. "Out of this entire circle, who would you sleep with?"
"Oh, definitely Jake." I say without a second thought. The feeling of Jakes eyes on me causes me to turn and look at him, our eyes locking. He smirks softly and I respond by biting my lip.
A few more rounds go on before Nic decides to jump in the pool, causing everyone to drunkenly follow. I had already taken a quick shower between the party and the kickback so I decided to sit in a lawn chair and watch as everyone had fun. Jake climbed his way out of the pool and walked over to me, his hair dripping onto my thighs as he leaned down to say something.
"Having fun all by yourself?" He asks with a smile. I roll my eyes playfully, crossing my arms over my chest.
"The most fun." I respond. There's something about the look in his eye that makes me think he has something up his sleeve, but I ignore it and lean back into my chair.
"You'd be having way more fun over there." He says, motioning toward the pool. I shake my head as I glance over his shoulder. Jake takes that split moment to scoop me up out of the chair. He throws me over his shoulder while ignoring my yells of protest. I beat my fists on his back and demand for him to put my down, but I only feel cold water surrounding me after he jumps into the pool.
"You're an ass!" I yell as soon as I emerge from the water. Everyone in the pool begins to laugh as they watch me splash Jake angrily. He only laughs as I move my hair out of my face, but his laughter slows as I tug the wet shirt and shorts off my body and throw them onto the side of the pool. Now clad in only a black bra and matching panties, I smirk as I feel Jake's eyes on me. No one else in the pool is paying any attention anymore.
I begin swimming around but Jake's eyes never leave me. His brown eyes are now darker and the sight makes my knees weak. With my busy schedule its been hard to go out and have fun, maybe this is the stress relief I needed. I swim toward him and smirk as he places his hands on my waist, mine moving to wrap around his neck. I grip the back of his hair and pull his face down to meet mine, connecting our lips together. Jake pushes my up against the wall of the pool and I ignore the concrete scratching my back as I focus on moving my lips against mine.
"Lets go upstairs." I say breathlessly after pulling away. He nods, lips swollen and pink. Bri and Nic are both engaged in their own conversations, everyone else heavily intrigued by a game of chicken. Jake and I swim over to the steps and sneak out, running toward the back door and slipping in. "Shower?" I question, considering we're both dripping wet from the pool.
"Let's go." He smirks.
