After giving myself a hot shower, I reclined into my room to do my homeworks. I’m in the middle of solving a Calculus problem when my sister barged in.

I didn’t know she was trying to get my attention until she threw my favourite pillow straight to my head.

“Ouch! What was that for?!!!” I shouted and glared at her.

“I was calling your name for a gazillion times! What happened to you? Maybe you should get your ears checked!” she said exaggeratedly.

I rolled my eyes at her antics and resumed on what I was doing.

“Hey sis, guess what....” she said excitedly like a five-year old.

“What?” I told her without even sparing her a glance.

“Jake asked me out!” she exclaimed. Wow didn’t saw that coming.

This time, I turned my chair to look at her. I folded my arms on my chest and raised my right eyebrow.

“I said yes!!!” she exclaimed.

Wow. I was left speechless.

I have come to know Jake since both of us were part of the student’s council before. He’s such a respectable and responsible guy. I know that he will take care of my baby sis. He should, or else he’ll face my wrath. No one dares to hurt my baby sis, only I can do that. Bwahaha.

Since elementary, I know that they have mutual feelings for each other. And even when we went abroad, they never stop communicating with each other. I even have to endure my sister’s period of depression (it’s an exaggeration but you know what I mean) whenever she misses Jake.

I used to tell her, “what meant to be will always be meant to be regardless of distance and time.” But when she told me that it’s not comforting to hear and she will just cry harder, I decided to just kept silent and resort to rubbing and patting her back.

“But sis, you have to promise not to tell mom and dad,” she told me seriously. I nodded.

Knowing my parents, they would disallow any romantic relationship in highschool. I remember when we were kids, my mom even asked us to promise that we’ll never have a boyfriend until we finish college. Nice move, mom.

Maybe that’s the reason why I always turn down every boy who confessed that they like me. That’s the most likely reason but of course there is also a big factor in me that says “I have not met the perfect one for me”. But of course, ever since Paulo came into my life, he has been an exception to the rule.

Hush. Enough about me. Back to my sister.

Even though I do not approve of keeping their relationship a secret, I’m still happy for her. Besides, I have no choice since I know that she’ll probably face the wrath of my parents if they ever found out.
