Virgil has stayed here a couple days and we haven't discussed what has happened. I look over to check in on him. He's been staying in my guest room and decorated it with his own little items. I didn't want to spring on the question of why he was here until he was ready for it. He seems a little broken down with everything that happened. I made my way to the grand piano like I did every morning and started playing a basic memory on it.I played this song for Patton many times. This was his favorite and later became mine also. the notes were played with a soft tint to them as to not disturb Virgil. I can hear each time Patton would join into the song singing. I miss those days, I miss when it was only us. now he's with Richard and has been for years. my notes become harsh. my music has changed from soft and sweet to a bitter reckless tone. the speed rushes pushing the notes out like chucking stones.
"logan?"
suddenly it became silent as I heard Virgil speak. I turn over towards him to meet his eyes.
"Hello Virgil"
"Are you doing okay?"
"Yeah, I just remembered some things from the past"
"Oh, like what?"
I smile and my head flooded with sweet stories from the past. I try picking one to tell but it was as hard as a kid choosing a present for his birthday.
"When Patton and I met I was an outcast. Every day he tried to talk to me, despite me pushing him away. I said so many things I wish I could take back. He was someone that you could ask for help and he'd do the best he could to meet your expectations. I can clearly remember one time I set him out on a quest to get a piece of candy that wasn't even sold in any stores nearby. It took him a month but he found the single store that sold it. I rudely asked him what took so long to find it. he said sorry and handed me a bag of them. I was a jerk to him back then."
"Sounds like it."
I let out a small chuckle "I can genuinely say that he changed me for the better"
"I don't think he'd do anything like that for me..."
"I would think he would, but ever since he's been married something about him has been off"
"what do you mean?"
my blood boiled thinking about that blond bastard. "He's been quieter, not as out going, his personality has been dulled out. I hate Richard in all honesty. we- Patton and I hung out nearly every week before, but ever since he got married it's been slowly going down. I know it's not because he doesn't want to see me. I have a gut feeling that it's because of Richard."
Virgil was quiet for a bit "I have no clue, usually I'm in my room ignoring the two"
My eyes meet my feet and my hands clench a little bit "If you ever go back can you make sure he's okay, for me?" my eyes go back up to his. I see a little nod and he leaves to go to the kitchen.
