The First Glitch

I still remember the first time I played survival with mobs on. I left my dirt hut to find some sheep so I could make a bed and sleep. But then I saw a flower and thought it was an enderman, so I screamed and ran away.

What is interesting about that world is that it was the first one where, odd things happened. After a couple nights of no sleep I walked off in search for some sheep. Since it was my first survival world I kept swapping the gamemode from 'mobs' and 'no mobs.' And yes back then there were only two modes. I was extatic when it updated with a mode having 'medium amount of mobs.'

Okay so I had no mobs on. Or at least I thought I had no mobs on. Some sort of glitch must have accured because when I was far from home walking in the large field looking for sheep as the sun was setting I could have sworn I saw an army of zombies crawling over the hills towards me. Of course it took me only one look to turn and run for the opposite hills. I eventually lost them and found a snow biome right next to a snowy forest. I was on the pocket edition at the time incase you were wondering. I made a small outline of a house and left the game because it was too dark and I was a little too scared at the time.

I logged back onto that world several days later and was surprised when I could no longer see my health and had endless inventory. You might say I was simply turned back onto Creative mode, but I was not able to fly and could still get hurt. It was a weird mixture of creative and survival. With the unlimited blocks, I finished my house and planted all sorts of trees. I experimented with mining and ores as well as farming and building. Since I couldn't fly, most of the things I made were underground like the big maze I was pretty impressed with at the time. I spawned and tamed a pack of dogs and made them a dog house. That world was also a great one to test taming dogs since I kept accidently hitting them and they would kill me in return. On that world I had to learn how many blocks high would kill you by jumping off towers as tests since I couldn't see my health.

Like before, I was scared of mobs since they would still attack and kill me. But at least I could easily grab a diamond sword with unlimited inventory. It was then that I got in the habit of carrying around an iron sword instead of diamond because it looked shinyer.

I made bedrock cages to experiment on creepers with to know how far away they could see you and if they could see you through glass. I died in that bedrock dome many times. I even made a mini Nether that was just a ten by twenty or something room made out of netherack with some pigmen inside. That was before the Nether existed, but they had put in pigmen, blazes, and ghats. Magma cubes came YEARS later. That was where I learned that if you hit pigmen they would hit you back for the first time. After dieing in the Nether room I never visited it again. There was no hunger bar at that time but since I couldn't see my health I found no purpose for food.

Now you might either be intrigued by this odd glitch or like: "Pfff! I know that glitch already!" And if you are that person, please tell me. I would like to know if there are others who had that happen to them. Anyway!

After a while of playing on that world, I got pretty bored at my little base and wanted an adventure. So I took all my dogs with me through an icy tower biome or whatever they are called. I really liked that biome and still do. But back then it didn't rain or snow, otherwise I would have built a little home there while passing through. Because I like it when it snows.

I walked through with my pack of dogs for a while until I made my way to a cliff. The land just ended there and there was ocean below that went as far as could be seen. I didn't really have anything else to do so I jumped off the cliff with my twelve or so dogs close behind. I remember swimming from there forwards but to the left a little for quite some time. My dogs stopped following me and I just left them behind. I had already lost my favorite dog, Woofie, a while ago under the ice. I was so sad, mainly because I had named her after an actual dog we had who had died not too long ago.

Many minutes passed of me just swimming, but I kept on. And that was way before you could really swim in Minecraft. That feature is still pretty new. Anyway, I finally found land. If you have read "The Island" then just know that me finding that land was very similar to how the author described him finding the island. And I was almost as excited.

I made my way onto shore, and that is where I found the second glitch.
