Kido and Kano continued to walk in silence with Kido's gaze on the ground and Kano's gaze occasionally landing on her. Unexpectedly, Lightning flashed in the sky and thunder sang with it. Kido squeaked and dropped the umbrella, Getting both her and Kano soaked. She shut her eyes tight and covered her ears with her hands while she crouched down."Tsubomi?" Kano smiled as he crouched beside her. Kido opened her eyes halfway just as another clap of thunder sounded.
"Eep!" Kido exclaimed and shut her eyes tight again. Kano chuckled and swept the strands of hair that was falling off Kido's shoulder.
"It's okay, Tsubomi. I'm right here." Kano smiled. Kido looked up at him with her hands still over her ears and tears at the corner of her eyes.
"This day is the worst. I didn't know it was a thunderstorm...." Kido whimpered.
"Well, Just cover your ears while we walk home. I'll hold the umbrella." Kano suggested. Kido nodded and stood up with her hands still over her ears. Kano smiled as he picked the umbrella up. Kido kept her eyes shut as they continued to walk with Kano leading her.
-at home-
Kano and Kido returned home with a sigh in relief. Kido took her hands away from her ears and took her shoes off. Kano folded the umbrella and did the same. Afterwards, Kido and Kano entered the house.
"We're home!" They announced as they made their way to the living room. As usual, Ayano came running down the stairs with her signature smile and welcoming hug.
"Welcome home!" She said after she released them. "There's food in the kitchen if you two are hungry. Kousuke and Mary are on their way here. Mom and dad are researching something and I need to work on my project."
"Thanks, Onee-chan." Kido sighed. She ran upstairs and Kano made his way into the kitchen.
-upstairs-
Kido closed the door gently behind her and sighed. "How pathetic can I be? I can't tell Shuuya how I feel yet told Yogi with ease." She told herself. Sighing once more, Kido got up and headed to her closet.
-downstairs-
Kido ran back downstairs after she changed into her original outfit and hung her wet uniform to dry. She entered the living room and saw Ayano by the coffee table working on her project.
"Hi, Tsubomi." She greeted once she saw Kido. Kido nodded and Ayano returned to her project. Kido made her way towards the couch and sank onto it. She sighed then pulled out her iPod and plugged in her earphones.
Kano returned from the kitchen and silently walked up to Kido. He hugged her from behind and whispered, "Hi, Tsubomi." In her ear, Causing her to shiver.
"Hello, Shuuya. Please let me go." Kido sighed.
"No~!"
"Let. Me. Go."
"I dare you to make me." Kano whined.
"Do you really want me to?" Kido snapped. She felt Kano nod and she grabbed his arm. She twisted it, Making him yelp in pain.
"Okay, Okay, You win!" Kano groaned once Kido released his arm. He chuckled and sat beside her with his smile still on.
"Onee-chan, Do you mind not listening?" Kido turned to Ayano.
"Okay. I'll go upstairs." Ayano smiled.
"No, No. Here, Listen to music from my iPod." Kido handed Ayano her gadget. Ayano took it and plugged the earphones into her ears. She put her thumbs up to say she couldn't hear them so Kido turned back to Kano.
"What is it, Tsubomi?" Kano asked curiously.
"Shuuya.....I don't blame you, Okay? But.....Why did you tell Yuna what I saw?" Kido bit her lip.
Kano was silent. "Oh....Well....I had to find out who Sayuri was.." He answered.
"I was going to meet her wether or not you told Yuna." Kido sighed.
"I'm sorry, Tsubomi."
"No. Forget it. What's done is done. We can't change what happened in the past."
"So do you mind telling me what Yuna talked to Yogi about?"
"Yuna blackmailed me. She said if I don't stay away from you, She'd tell Yogi what I saw. And when you planted a kiss on my cheek, It was the last chance she gave."
Kano was silent again. "I'm sorry, Tsubomi." He apologized.
"I said forget it. It's useless now." Kido sighed. "Daijobu desu. You don't need to worry anymore. At least now I don't need to kneel every time she shows up."
"You.....Kneel every time she shows up?"
"I needed to."
"I'm sorry...."
Kido gave him a look. "One more apology, Just one more, And you will wish you didn't say anything." She growled.
"Fine, I'll stop. I just....I know this is all my fault." Kano sighed.
"I said it's okay. Don't make such a big deal about it." Kido took his hand in hers. They stayed silent for a while until they heard a knock on the door. Kido got up to answer it and Kano tailed behind her.
"We're home!" Seto said in a muffled voice due to him being on the other side of the door. Kido opened the door and Mary and Seto were standing in front of them. Seto smiled.
"Welcome home. Hi, Mary." Kido turned to the Medusa.
"Hi...." Mary whispered. Seto laughed and both of them entered.
"Where's nee-chan?" Seto asked.
"Working on her project." Kano answered as they entered the living room.
"Why is nee-chan wearing your earphones, Tsubomi?" Seto asked.
"Shuuya and I talked about something." Kido answered coolly.
"Hi Kousuke!" Ayano greeted a little loudly. She took the earphones off and flashed into a smile.
"Hi, Nee-chan." Seto smiled back.
