In 1970, after Tim Staffel left Smile, and John Deacon and Freddie Mercury joined, Queen was formed. Later in 1973, Queen created their first album, Just called "Queen" it had the songs, Keep yourself alive, doing all right, Liar, my fairy king, and the first studio demo on "Seven seas of rhye" which was later released on the Queen 2 album.

Also, around this time. Freddie Mercury was dating his life long friend Mary Austin, which she supported Freddie Mercury's success in the band.

In 1974 Queen 2 was released, which was the first album they had that went on the music charts.
Queen 2 included the hit songs, Seven seas of Rhye, White Queen, March of the Black Queen, and Ogre battle.
Seven seas of Rhye became the first hit of Queen.

The album cover was also the iconic pose the band members are in on the music promotion video for "Bohemian Rhapsody" which is on the "A night at the opera album

Later that year, Queen released their 3rd album (and their first album not named Queen) called "Sheer Heart attack" in this album, it had a really successful song that was a mix of rock, and show tunes. This song was called, "Killer Queen". It was Queen's biggest and most successful song around the time.
