Ember's dad texted back "Where the fuck are you! You better come back tomorrow, if you don't, I'm changing the locks so your ungrateful arse can't get back in my house." Ember quickly screenshotted it as evidence of not being intentionally homeless. She took a deep breath, she would talk to the school to help her inform child services about the situation. Celina walked back in and grabbed her backpack "Are you coming for breakfast?" She asked happily. Ember nodded "Yeah, I need to grab my bag first, I'm lucky I used my school bag and not my spare one..." She replied as she grabbed her backpack and waited for Celina; the sun lighting up the room. Celina nodded, grabbed her bag and they began to leave the room and went downstairs. "Good morning girls! Did you sleep well?" Greeted Celina's mother, Ember smiled at her, she was the closest thing left to a mother she had now. Ember nodded as did Celina. They sat down and got some toast, they quickly ate and rushed out, they were going to be late of they didn't leave then.
They ran to school getting there on time. Celina noticed some girls whispering while looking at Ember, instinctively, she stood Infront of Ember, protecting her. Wouldn't you know it? One of the girls ran fast towards Ember but Celina stopped her. "Don't even think about trying to hurt her. You'll have to get through me first." Celina firmly told the girl as she pushed her gently away. The girl nodded and pushed Celina down to the ground with force and she fell with a thud. Immediately, the second girl came to hold Celina down, Celina wasn't the strongest, she couldn't kick the girl off. The girl who pushed Celina advanced towards Ember, who was frozen in shock, and rammed Ember into a wall. Ember screamed in pain "Stop! Why are you doing this?" She cried. The girl chuckled with a maniacal look on her face. "It doesn't matter, fag." Spat the devil of a girl. Tears streamed down both Ember's and Celina's faces, that word was a bullet to the chest. The girls laughed snarkily and walked into school. Ember just sank down the wall in despair and disbelief, first at home, now school, how could she escape? Celina shot back up and ran to Ember and hugged her "I'm so sorry this happened!" Celina told Ember, her voice shaky. Ember nodded "It's not your fault... People are so close minded... Fucking cunts..." Ember shouted in anger and pain.
Celina nodded and helped Ember up as they walked back into school. They went to their form and nothing eventful happened. The rest of the day was the same, nothing eventful, no more harassment. Before they left, they went to the bleak, bland, grey office. Ember began to shake and her palms got sweaty, heart beating like a drum. Celina saw and grabbed Ember's hand and looked her in the eye and said "You're going to fine, the meeting will go great, it will be sorted!" Celina spoke softly, calmly and added a comforting smile. Ember gulped and nodded, somehow, the anxiety melted away, just from when Celina grabbed her hand. They walked into the office, everything went to plan, the school contacted places immediately, the screenshots would go to social services and Ember would be updated on things while accommodation would be sorted soon.
Celina was bisexual, so it wasn't impossible for them to be together, Celina sighed at the thought and looked at Celina. Her soft rosy cheeks, her small nose, her deep eyes, so kind yet almost full of pain... How did Ember only just realise how perfect she is? She had no noticeable flaw! They walked back to the house and flopped onto Celina's bed. "I'm. Exhausted." Sighed Celina. She turned to face Ember and smiled. Ember had such beautiful eyes, the most adorable dimples... Ember smiled back and nodded. "Same! I'm so knackered..." Agreed Ember. Celina sat up with that wild look in her eye. Ember also sat up and looked at Celina confused. Celina smirks "You know what this calls for?" Their eyes lit up and they said simultaneously "Mug brownies!" They both smiled at eachother and ran downstairs like rhinos in a stampede.
