Amber's POV:
"Come on, Amber! We have to get to the party!" Carter, one of my other best friends, calls from outside of my apartment.
"I'm coming!" I yell back and I grab my high heels as I run out of the apartment.
"You look amazing!" Carter chimes and I blush looping my arm through his.
"Thank you. Sometimes I try!" We both laugh and we walk out to my car. We both hop into Carter's black convertible and head to the party.
"So where do you plan on meeting this, Jacob guy of yours?" Carter asks while he wiggles his eyebrows.
"I'm not sure. We didn't plan that out but I'll find him. He obviously won't find me because he is looking for a girl who looks like Lindsey, not me." I respond and he nods.
"I know for a fact that he'll love you. Hell, I even love you!" He exclaims. I slap his arm,"Hey, no hitting the driver!" Carter laughs.
He squeezes my hand.
---TIME LAPSE---
We arrive at the party and as I walk through the room everyone starts a conversation with me, shakes my hand, waves, smiles, or claps. Dylan bumps into me and we both just glare at each other and walk away.
Dylan's POV:
Amber and I bump into each other and we both exchange glares. I walk over to Matt who is sitting at the bar and I sit adjacent to him. "Hey Matt!" I exclaim.
"Hey Dylan! What's up?"
"I'm looking for this girl. Her name is Lindsey. She has waist length, dark brown hair, brown eyes..."
"Haven't seen her. You'll find her." Matt responds and I shrug.
"Thanks." I say while walking away.
Amber's POV:
I see Dylan walk away from Matt, so I decide to go over to him.
He smiles as I sit beside him,"Hey Amber!"
"Hey Matt! How are you?" I return.
"I'm pretty good. What about you?" He asks.
"Great! I'm supposed to meet this guy here... His name is Jacob, he has blonde hair, blue eyes, he's tan..." Matt just shakes his head.
"Sorry Amber but I haven't seen him. He might just be late!" He tries to reassure me.
With a sad smile I nod my head and walk away, but I quickly wave so that it doesn't seem like I'm being rude. He returns the wave and turns away to talk to other people near him.
---3 HOURS LATER---
"Did you ever find him?" Carter asks as we walk out of the bar that took place of the party. I just shake my head sadly as he flings the keys around his fingers.
"Sorry hun..." He says and he rubs my shoulder.
"It's not your fault..." I respond and he drives me to my apartment.
---WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK---
My phone keeps buzzing with text messages from Jacob but I just avoid looking at the texts. I refuse any urge to look at the messages on my phone but I finally decide to text Lindsey when I happen to read one of Jacob's texts:
Why weren't you at the party?
I immediately respond.
Me: Why wasn't I at the party? I was at the party but you didn't show!
Jacob: Yes I did. I was looking for you.
Me: Oh. Well I was looking for you too...
Jacob: Where were you?
Me: I was walking around, looking for you, I was at the bar talking to the director, that was mostly it.
Jacob: Okay, well I've gotta go...
Me: Bye.
Jacob: Bye
Then I turn off my phone.
Maybe he is a good guy. Only the universe will know.
