She tugged a piece of hair behind her ear. This was it. She was finally going on a date with the love of her life after lord knows how long. She had waited way too long for this moment to come around. It wasn't like it was the first time they were going on a date. They had been on plenty before. But this was the first one after the messy break-up and the sleepless nights where all she had done was cried that had come in between all the love they had for each other. She loved him. She loved him so much there was no turning back now or ever.
Their break-up was the worst part of her life.He said that they were taking a break but then he blocked her number, blocked her on all social media accounts. But she was desperate for his love. She made various accounts just to contact him. But as soon as he found out that it was her, he blocked her.She felt like killing herself. She felt like killing him. She was lost. She even ran away from her own home. Her home where one else lived except her. Her monsters didn't live under her bed, instead in her mind. She had lost count of the amount of times she wanted to kill herself. After sometime it became too painful to even try to contact him. So instead of actually contacting him, she wrote him letters instead. Letters that were never meant to be actually sent to him but were all addressed to him anyways. It helped her for a while. But then it stopped. The next thing she did to try to make herself feel better was the second biggest mistake of her life after falling in love. She became suicidal. Luckily her brother found out and got rid of all the sharp material she could harm herself with. Anyhow, after a lot of time of being hurt the day came when he finally met her again. It was a cliche type of meet up. She thought it was accidental but then later she found out that he knew she was going to be there, that's why he came.
At first she was hesitant to accept him back. It was not that she didn't love him. She still loved him as much as she did when she first met him. She was not ready to get her heart fixed just to get it broken again. But then he proved to her that he was a changed man. Changed for the better. He was still trying to prove her that he wasn't going to leave her. Still trying to win her over. It took her a while but then she finally trusted him enough to take her out on a date.
She ran a hand over her dress to smooth it out. She was wearing red which undoubtedly his favourite color. Her hair was open and ready to flow with the winds outside. When she looked in the mirror, she winked at herself which made her eyelashes move up and down in a seductive manner. Her makeup was done to minimum because he used to say that makeup hides her beauty.
Her phone buzzed and her breath hitched. It was him. She just knew that it was him. And suddenly she wasn't sure if she was ready to go out. She felt like she still had to get ready. Like her makeup wasn't done or her outfit was yet to be put on. In reality though, all of those things had been done and all of that just in her head. She looked up at the ceiling and whispered, "don't mess things up." Then proceeded to grab her phone. She unlocked it only to find out that it was a notification from the duolingo app she had in her phone. The corners of her lips lifted up and in the matter of a few seconds she was having a full on laughing session all by herself, alone in her apartment.
Her phone buzzed again but this time she wasn't as nervous as she was before. Somehow, the laughter session had calmed her down. It was him this, actually. It was a simple text from him that said that he was outside her apartment. It made her smile so big. She grabbed her purse and put her phone in it.
After one glance in the mirror she was out of her room and towards the door. Before opening the door she took a deep breath and gave herself a small encouraging pat on the back, mentally of course.
One click, second click and the door was now unlocked. A shaky hand was put on the doorknob and then twisted. The door opened and she saw him stand tall, looking as cute as ever.
"Olivia," he smiled.
"Harry," she smiled back.
And those smiles started a journey that was bound to end well.
