New Life

One Week Later

Nathaniel POV

I looked down at Katherine and held her hand. When she collapsed on top of me, I immediately gave her my blood. Her burn healed within the hour, but her knife wound took about two days to heal. I had Lily and James put her in a light blue silk dress and lay her on top of her new bed covers. We had to leave and go to my family's house outside of Paris, France. My parents were surprised at my sudden arrival, but when they saw Katherine they immediately helped me. I haven't left her bedside since. I heard a knock and my older brother Daniel came in.

"You have to leave at some point little brother. She'll wake up at some point. You need to feed."

"I know, but..." I sighed and looked at Katherine. Daniel shook his head and grabbed my free arm, pulling me up.

"Come and feed. I'll get mother to watch her."

I cast one last look at Katherine before following my brother. I went to join my family at the table.

Katherine POV ten minutes later

I blinked and looked at an unfamiliar ceiling. It took me a second before I remembered what happened. I sat up immediately and looked myself over. No wounds. Odd. I looked around and saw I was wearing a blue silk dress in a dark room. It was very dark, yet I could see everything clearly. I got off the bed and walked to the balcony doors. Opening them, I saw a large full moon over a large city in the distance. I spotted the Eiffel Tower and knew it was Paris. How did I get here?

I ran to a mirror and my eyes went wide. My skin was pale, my pupils were slitted, and my brown hair was very silky. My eyes seemed a brighter blue. I jumped when I heard a voice.

"You're awake! Thank the goddess!"

I turned to see a woman with long blonde hair and forest green eyes. She smiled at me.

"Sorry if I startled you. My name is Talia. I'm Nathaniel's mother. Let's get you in a new dress, then let's go see the rest of the family."

I nodded and Talia went to the wardrobe. She looked around for a minute before grabbing a long dark red dress with a black band around the collar and bottom of the dress. I nodded and she helped me put it on. We left the room and made our way to the large parlor.

In the parlor was a man and another boy. The man had dark blue hair and brown eyes. The boy had short blonde hair and brown eyes. They saw me and smiled. The boy walked up to me.

"My name is Daniel. I'm Nathaniel's older brother. The old man over there is our father, Matthew."

"Hi." I said shyly.

"Hello my dear....HEY! What do you mean 'old man'?" Said Matthew

"Well its true!" Daniel countered

I giggled while Talia rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"I'm going to get Nathaniel now." She said and left the room.
