4th of November, 1:40 PM.

NYC, NY. Aria's high school.

Andy's PoV

Since it's Thursday, Aria's skipping the last two periods for whatever reason she has. I'm waiting for her outside her school. Is this weird?

Minutes later she's out with Briana and Nathalie. I wave at them and they wave back as they approach me. "Hey! What are you doing here?" Aria asks. "Um, well. I wanna take you somewhere to talk about something." I say as I look at Bri and Nat, hinting Aria that it's kind of personal. "Oh!! Yeah sure." She replies after finally getting what I was hinting at.

As soon as I open the door a cop's car pulls over. The cop approaches us. "Um hi there." Bri says as she tries not to sound suspicious, Aria gives her a look to calm her down. What did they do now? "You, ladies, are coming with me." He says as he points at Aria and Bri.

"Woah wait, why?" I ask him. "Well, we caught them stealing from Hot Topic." He replies. Stephanie now joins the "party". "What's going on?" She asks no one in particular. "Sir, you must've mistaken us for some other teenagers. I can assure you we didn't steal anything." Aria says calmly.

"Weren't you guys at the mall yesterday?" He asks. "Yes, yes we were. But we absolutely have no idea what this Hot Topic crap is." She replies. How stupid of her, doesn't she know what she's wearing today? "Well, it kind of seems like you're lying." He points at her shirt, Of Mice & Men band shirt. Aria looks at me and I nod, then she looks at Bri and Bri nods. "It was a gift, sir. But I think I know who did it." Bri says as she gets closer to the car door. "Don't waste my time now. Who?" The cop asks sternly.

From what Aria told me, Bri and Nat don't really like each other, and they all don't like Steph but they're friends with her for some reasons. Bri points at Nat and Steph, "They did it, I swear!". "What!?! No, officer, we didn't!" They both say. "Peace losers." Aria says as we all get in the car and drive, leaving Nat and Steph with the cop.

"I can't believe you guys actually left them!" I shouldn't be laughing my ass off right now. "Eh, we do that all the time. Plus you're driving, so I can't believe you actually left them." Bri says. I drive to Briana's house to drop her off. "Bye guys. Thanks for the ride, Andy. Have fun, you two." Bri gets out of the car. Now it's just me and Aria.

"Where are we going?" Aria asks. "Somewhere where we could be alone. Somewhere quiet." I answer. I honestly don't know where I'm going, but I'm driving until I reach a good place to talk.

*

I reach a lake. Fortunately, we're the only ones here. We find a good spot and sit. "So.. What did you want to talk about?" She asks.

"The real you."

"Oh.. Great."

"I have all day. Start when you feel like talking." I hold her hand to let her know that I'm here for her. She stays quiet for 10 minutes.

"I cut." She begins, "I starve myself, I'm anorexic, I'm depressed, I'm suicidal. I seriously hate myself. I try not to hurt the ones I love, but I do, and I get hurt, too. Sure, you might think that there's nothing wrong with my life, that there's nothing wrong with me, but frankly, everything's wrong. I try to change, believe me I do, but no matter how hard I try, I can't succeed. Without music, I wouldn't even be here right now. I try to hide who I am by just smiling and pretending that everything's OK, seems like it worked. I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim."

Damn. She's only 16 and she's already hurting? I feel really bad for asking her. She's so strong. I wish I could do something, anything, to make her happy. I pull her in for a hug and whisper, "I would kiss you right now, but like what you said, I met you 5 days ago. But you're worth the wait. I still like you."

She smiled.
