Mabel's Dilemma

Act 2 Scene 2

( In the School of Heaven's Gate International School, the students are in the assembly hall when the principal and vice principal came on stage to give an announcement)

Principal: Good morning, school.

Students: Good morning,ma.

Principal: Welcome back to school. As you all know it's a new term, so everything you will do must be good. I have some announcements before you go to classes. The JSS 3 students should be preparing for their Junior WAEC and the same goes to SS 3 students. So, make sure you all pay your WAEC fee on-time so as to write the exam. Secondly, there would be a lot of activities this term like debate,quiz,conference,excursion and most importantly your valedictory service. Don't worry,this term will be different. It is part of your school fees. Thirdly, you all should be of good behaviour and courage. Don't let us have any bad record this term. I hope you understand all I have said. Goodluck in all your endeavours.( she goes off stage)

Students: Thank you,ma.( they clap)

Mr Dave: Marching song!

Students:  We are H-A-P-P-Y(happy)

                    We know we are
                    We are sure we are
                    We are H-A-P-P-Y (happy)
( They repeat till they exit from the hall)

( In Mabel's class )
Mr Olumide: Good morning,class.

Class: Good morning,sir.

Mr Olumide: I hope you all enjoyed your holiday.

Class: Yes,sir.

Mr Olumide: Ok. We are now in school. Things for home should be left at home and things for school should be left in school. Is that clear?

Class: Yes,sir.

Mr Olumide: Ok. What subject are you students having now?

Class: Home Economics!

Mr Olumide: Go and call your teacher.

Class: Yes,sir.( Class captain goes to call the teacher)

( Mrs Alabi enters )
Mrs Alabi: Good morning,class.

Class: Good morning,ma.

Mrs Alabi: You are all welcome back to school once again. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. Now,we will review what we did last term. Who can tell me what a balanced diet is? ( half of the class raise their hands up )

Anthony: A balanced diet is a meal containing all the six classes of food which are carbohydrates, protein,mineral salt, vitamins,fats&oil and water needed in the right proportion and quantity.

Mrs Alabi: Let's clap for him.( they clap for him ).Before the bell is rung,you all will go home and answer the theory part of the past exam in your note. Is that clear?

Class: Yes,ma.( the bell rang and Mrs Alabi leaves )
