I finish serving the table in front of me and walk back behind the counter, wiping the surface down to make me look somewhat busy. The bell on the door rings and I look towards the entrance to see Tommy bursting in with Nikki and some other older-looking guy with shoulder-length, dark hair. Tommy scans the diner and his searching eyes stop on me. This can't be good.

"Aye, Lili!" he shouts from the other side of the diner. I roll my eyes and walk out from behind the counter, going to the empty tables to collect dishes. "Come on, Lil. We need your help" he continues, following behind me.

"I'm not giving you anything."

"I'm not asking for money... this time," he pauses. "I need you to help us find Vince."

I stop walking away and turn to face him. "Tommy, you know I don't really like Vince."

"Come on, please..."

I sigh. "Fine, but I'm going to get fired from leaving work during my shift, so you better find me another job." I take off my apron and carelessly toss it on the front counter.

"Deal," he says. "Oh, before we go. Come meet the newest members of the band."

"Mick Mars," the older guy says.

"Lili, Tommy's sister."

"Nikki Sixx, we have already met a few times but I've never properly introduced myself," Nikki says and grabs my hand, kissing the top of it.

"Lili," I say quietly, trying to stop myself from smiling.

"So... why exactly are you looking for Vince?" I ask.

"We need a lead singer and Vince should do it," Tommy answers.

"Well, he's blonde, a talented singer and a douche. He'll work just fine."

We walk through the backyard, multiple people look at us as we walk past them. Nikki snatches a bottle of Jack Daniel's from some random guy's hand and starts drinking it as he follows me to their possible lead singer for his new band.

"A fucking cover band?" Mick mutters as we stop behind a crowd of people dancing to a band singing 'My Kind Of Lover' by Billy Squier.

"Yeah, but I'm telling you, we went to high school with this dude," Tommy says. Mick walks off to the table behind us and Tommy puts his hand on Nikki's shoulder.

"Ok, that is exactly who we need."

We all walk over to the table to join Mick and observe the band from there. "His voice ain't bad" Mick admits.

"I don't care if he can sing or not. Look what he's doing to those chicks," Nikki says.

"Yeah, Vinnie!" Tommy shouts as Vince sings.

Tommy walks away from Vince after trying to persuade him to come join the bank and walks back over to us. "I think he's in."
