darkness

a lot of people are afraid of it.

not because of the pitch of black surrounding them.

it can take over you. it can make you insane. it can make you think there will be never light again. it can suffocate you. it can make you familiar with the feeling of hopelessness.

but it can also be your friend as well as your enemy.

it can be your home, too.

but what it can’t be is; gone.

it will never be gone. it is always there.

and that’s okay.

because i’ve been living in the darkness since i can remember.
