Nightmare

CH. 4 Day one task two

Rhythm wiped more sweat from his brow and turned to look back at his sisters. after completing their first task they'd decided it was tie to go home and celebrate. getting the eye of the jade tiger in the deepest darkest part's of Africa was and had proven to be very difficult indeed in fact when it had disappeared from the list of items most couldn't believe they had been the ones who'd taken it.

and for twenty points hell it had been worth it they were in with the top ten competitors at number eight that is Brice of the Lycan clan Zeke, and Daniel were already the top three with sixty five point's a piece! Rhythm and his sisters had figured it was time for them to kick up the heat. they were is Sahara dessert now looking for the star of fire it was said to be guarded by papa Gaye.

a powerful death god, to some a man of pure evil, to Misery if he really walked in shadows she would be able to drain him enough to steal the star from him before he took their lives. hell the hing was worth thirty point's that would put them right behind the top three!

"see it! i see the stone temple!", Purity screamed as she jumped from her horse and ran toward the giant pyramid. Rhythm sighed with relief he hoped from his own horse and followed his sisters into the place.

"sure is dark in here",Purity said a ting of fear in her voice.

"that's because you worship the light were as i invoke the darkness sister to me this is pure bliss", Misery said twirling in the shadows of the pyramid. "now were's old Papa Gaye at?"

" i wouldn't do that Misery pissing him off won't exactly help us", Rhythm said looking around until a shinning red object caught his eye.

"i found it!",he yelled leaping for the golden star and the ruby with in it just before his hand could close in around it he was knocked back by a force of unseen strength. Rhythm glared evilly then stopped when a Malicious voice rang out in laughter.

"you poor little fool did you honestly expect i'd simply allow you to take the star?"

Rhythm stood and brushed off his jeans and t-shirt before looking over at Misery she glanced back and he nodded Misery launched herself at the star all the while draining in the shadows. the laughter soon turned to a cry of outrage as Misery took the star from it's place on the wall and held it above her head with in seconds the star was gone.

Papa Gaye then appeared his body was made of bone and thin skin his cloak was made or had been made of the darkest shadows that now obeyed Misery.

"gi-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ve them back! i want my shadows back! keep that wicked star but give my shadows back!", he demanded

"only if you Papa Gaye vow to the Myths not to lay a single hand on us and never hunt us down"

" i vow you damned brat now give them back!"

Rhythm sighed people could be so pushy these days "okay Misery give him his shadows let's go", they ran from the entrance and screamed when a shadowy hand swiped at them. "it carries death's blade run for it!"

they jumped and dodged and ducked at every turn next time Rhythm thought i'll be more specific. they ran faster and jumped through the entrance just as the hand made a grab for their head's.

"next time Rhythm be more cautious about what you say!" Misery yelled they broke up laughing and dropped to their knees in the sand they were proud of themselves and because their parents could follow what was going by checking their orb they were sure they were proud of them too.

"come on you guys we've had enough fun for one day lets go back to the hotel and get some sleep then we can start tomorrow"

~some where in Antartica~

Daniel folded his wings against his back as best he could the weather here was freezing and he was sure he'd lost a patch of hair some where for hundred feet down this dame mountain a while ago.

"how much longer?, Lycan you said you could sniff out anything no matter how old the scent!", he yelled at Brice not sure if the Lycan Prince could here him at all. Suddenly the vampire was next to him and took his arm with in seconds the vampire had traced them to Brice's side.

some five hundred feet above where he original had been. "i'd found the mirror some time ago demon" said as he stared in to the mirror with wide eyes. Daniel and Zeke both stood by Brice as they wacthed the scene in the mirror progress.

"Misery now!, yelled Rhythm as the dark god swooped down on them then was suddenly powerless as it seemed that Misery drained him of his power or at least the source of it. they watched as the three guardians continued their task and escaped the pyramid be fore the dark god could smite them with his minions.

"well at least we know their safe", said Daniel as stepping away from the mirror.

"safe? you call that safe?!",roared Brice, "they were nearly killed yet all they did was joke about it after hey got out"

"perhaps they like a little danger in their lives", responded Zeke, "i know i do"

"your both crazy !", yelled the Lycan as he stormed out the cave back into the blizzard.

Just when Zeke was about to follow the Lycan out the cave Daniel stopped him and pulled him by his arm back to the mirror. "he's right you know they could be dead"

Zeke sighed, yeah i know so what do we do?"

"you heard what the goddess said right? take what talisman you want but only if there is enough to take one, well there are three so we take one and use it to spy on them maybe even see what task they choose next"

"ahhh i see what you mean then when the opportunity presents it's self spilt them up and keep them that way"

"at least until we know that they'll accept us and go with us willingly",Daniel replied smiling

"and if that plan back fires demon then what?!" yelled Brice, coming back in from the cold.

"trust me Lycan it won't all we have to do is keep them off their game and after that like they say the rest is history"
