Imagine:
You walk through the door of yours and Jakes house. It's been a long, tedious day at work, all you want to do is put your feet up have a cup of tea and snuggle up to Jake.
You drop your bag by the door and hang up your coat. You wander into the kitchen to find Jake stood hunched over the sink, several empty beer bottles laying on the table. You rush over and turn on the water washing away the vomit. You grab some kitchen roll and wipe away any vomit from around his mouth.
"Thank you." He says sounding drunk
"Can you not drink so much next time, please!" You say a little mad
He stops and looks at you, bloodshot eyes.
"What? Am I not allowed to drink?" He talks back to you
"I'm not saying that. Just don't drink yourself into oblivion so that I have to clean it up!" Your voice raised
"So it's my fault?"
You can smell the alcohol heavy on his breath.
"Yes. You got yourself into this mess and I have to clean it up! I don't want it happening again. Ever!"
You start to walk away as you hear him start to sob quietly.
"I m-miss him y/n."
You stop in the door way.
"I miss h-him so m-much."
You turn around to see him with his head in his hands, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"Who? Who do you miss?" You ask concerned
"H-Heath." He says through his tears
You rush over to him and take him in your arms.
"I'm so sorry Jake, I didn't know."
You start tearing up as Jake rests his head on your shoulder.
"If you ever need to talk about it or anything I'm always here. It's good to talk about it."
"I want him back." He says through sniffles
"I know you do."
You stand there in silence, holding Jake in your arms as he sobs. You try and calm him down. This was not how you expected your evening to go but you just want Jake to be happy.
