Y/N's POV

"Damn it! I lost again. Anyone play this game well here? Please tell me what is the use of this perfumer! I literally can't do anything using this character..."

My friend Lucy shouted angrily as she nearly thrown her phone to the other side of the room if I didn't put down the book I was reading and stopped her in time.

"Chill! It's just tough luck... Are you playing Identity V again Luce? Is it really that fun?" I pulled her phone out of her hand in case she smashes it and looked at the screen curiously. Lucy hmphed and snatched it back.

"Of course babe! This is the best game that I have ever played."

I peered at the slightly reflecting screen again, there was four characters sitting at a table. A tall, dark figure standing behind them, appearing to be the one that had won the game. Amount those characters I recognized the perfumer, who had given Lucy such a bad mood today; a guy with a tidy white suit; a girl that seemed to be a nurse and... a boy in a hood. His face stone cold and expressionless, his eyes hidden by a blindfold and a bird was resting on his shoulder. My heart leapt slightly when I saw him, though I was not sure why.

"Hey hon, why don't you download this as well? We can play in a team!" Lucy asked.

"Huh? O...oh..." I was still looking at the hooded figure but I pulled myself back, "no thanks, I won't be a good player. And besides, I still got three essays to write up."

"Oh god. Your teacher must be so delighted to have got a good student like you." Lucy said teasingly. I smiled at her. When the bell gone as we said our goodbyes as usual and walked to the next class.

Usually I would be the top girl. Top at academics, top at arts, top at sports... and university life is really busy already so I couldn't really put my mind on other stuff except studying. Some people, well, most people see it as stubborn and not enjoying my life, but my friends always understand me even if they pay no interests in studying hard, like Lucy.

But today, I couldn't concentrate during the last lesson I have before going back to the apartment. My mind kept drifting back to the figure I saw on Lucy's phone. I wonder why he was wearing a blindfold...

The day finished quite quickly and I almost dashed back to the apartment and into my room, my mind messy with the essays and the figure. After a long conversation and struggling with myself, I slowly picked up my phone and searched 'Identity V'. Then it all went easily, I didn't know when did I clicked the button but when I realized, the game was already downloaded and was ready for me to play. I looked at it nervously and tapped it. Then, a dazzling white light shone on my screen and I was almost blinded by it. I felt a rush of pain. Is this what it supposed to be like? But before my thoughts could go any further, I blanked out.

Cold... so cold. I woke up trembling for I'm only wearing my casual night dress, which was not warm at all. I sit up slowly and found that the pain was gone. I looked around, I was lying in waves of tall grasses, and not far from me, there was a deserted cottage and a line shining brightly under the almost black sky. These looked familiar. Wait! I'm in the game! I realized with a shudder. I'm in a map called 'the Lakeside Village' according to Lucy, so that glowing thing must be... a cipher machine.
