Chapter 2

I'm sorry guys I just found that I made a few spelling mistakes back in the first chapter, hope you guys can correct it when you're reading and I'll make sure it won't happen again. Thx for understanding!

Warning (actually it's not a really big deal)! This chapter contains (small) swear words!

Y/N's POV

I woke up early the next morning, finding that Eli had left my room already. I sighed and got up, stretching a little bit while thinking about what happened last night. I do sleepwalking a lot and sometimes I don't even know what I have done after I wake up. Hoping I didn't do anything yesterday that scared Eli away because I couldn't remember anything that happened last night, I stood up and put on the dress Emily left on my chair, my back feeling a lot better now. I decided to have a walk around the manor, see if I can find anything, maybe another survivor that got up early like me.

I stepped outside of the doorway quietly and tiptoed along the corridor. It was 6 in the morning and everything was quite, I didn't want to wake the others up so I changed direction and went into the garden.

I heard someone humming as I walked through the door, then I saw Emma hopping busily up and down around a bunch of hydrangeas, watering them with her tin watering can. She turned and spotted me and we greeted each other happily.

"Good morning Emma."

"Moring Y/N! What a nice sunny day we have here!"

"Yeah. Emma, why are you up so early?"

"Well, yesterday's match was tiring, I got chased by the gamekeeper for the whole game but luckily we escaped. My body's still sore but I couldn't leave these beauties here to dry up in the air!" She pointed at some strange-looking plants and the hydrangeas.

"What... what are they, Emma?"

"These are hydrangeas, Eli just brought it back from the maps last week. He is literally so nice. Oh, they're beautiful aren't they? And as for these," She pointed at the brown, weird-looking plants not far away, "They're vanilla."

"Oh! Right. No wonder it smells so nice."

Emma nodded in agreement: "Indeed! By the way, would you please bring some vanilla to the kitchen sugarcube? Emily had been waiting on getting these for ages and she'll sure be happy to see'em today."

I said yes and picked out some of the vanilla from its stem with Emma, then turned and walked towards the kitchen, which was on the other side of the manor. I looked around curiously on my way there, taking turns after turns in this huge place. My bedroom was modern and comfortable, but the other places in the manor looked like the buildings from another era, with extremely fine carvings on the walls and the roof that were made out of threads of gold and heavy-colored red wood. The cabinets and other decorations made the whole place looked mysterious and elegant.

After a few minutes of wondering around, I was lost. All the corridor looked completely the same to me, and surly I had took a turn around this corner already? I did went past Eli's room for a few times, but I wasn't going to wake him up. Yesterday must be tiring for him and I hope my friend could rest for a little bit longer. I walked around, getting a bit worried. I heard really soft footsteps, just behind me. Oh no, did I run into the hunter's side? Eli just told me yesterday that I'd better not go there alone! I wanted to hide first into one of the cabinets and see what would happen next, but the person behind me spoked: "Who are you?"

It's a man's voice. I turned around reluctantly to see who was talking to me. It was a guy in mercenary clothing, with a baggy green hoodie outside. We stared at each other suspiciously for a while, then his face was suddenly led by a brilliant smile: "You must be the new survivor. What's your name, miss?"
