"So, shall we go get some ice cream first?" The brunette said looking down at his partner.

"Hmm, not yet. I want to go to the mall first."

"Oh, maybe Chuuya wants to get himself some actually fashionable clothes?" Dazai teased his partner.

"Says the kid who wears a suit everyday and almost doesn't even have anything a person his age should wear. So not like you would actually know if there was something bad about my style. And seriously, what do you not like about my outfit?"

"Well, I actually like this one a lot. You look cute in it." He said in a serious but nice voice with a gentle smile.

Chuuya's eyes widened as he was caught off guard. "T-thanks I guess." He felt a little blood rush to his cheeks as he looked down at his shoes for a second, then he shook his head and grabbed Dazai's hand. "You're so slow, let's go!" He looked back already almost running in front of Dazai as he tried to catch up to him while he was basically being dragged by Chuuya.

"Slow down a bit! We don't have to hurry anywhere, it's our day off if you've already forgotten." And Chuuya did as the brunette told him to and so there they were, walking hand in hand towards the mall. Some people gave them weird looks but they couldn't care less. They finally felt like they could be normal teenagers for even just a day and they wanted to enjoy every moment of it. Only the two of them existed in their little world and that's exactly how they wanted it to be, even if for just that day. They might have acted a bit childish but if you didn't even have a real childhood it would be understandable. That was their chance to finally feel like their age and not someone who kills for a living and they were sure to take it and make the best of it. Even if just for that day.

The two went shopping, arguing about what suits the other best and picking out clothes for each other. Secretly they liked like the outfits picked out for them but of course as stubborn as they were would never tell the other. After that they got some ice cream. Dazai told Chuuya off because he got some of it on his nose and all over his lips but made the ginger blush when he wiped it off from his nose and licked it off from the corner of his lips. Acting all lovey-dovey wasn't either of their things but they didn't mind it. Even if for just that day.

Then the pair went to an arcade where Chuuya made a big mistake. Again. He bet that he would beat Dazai. He tends to forget that the brunette would always cheat though. This time wasn't an exception either. But this time Dazai only asked for a kiss as his price. He though of something else first but considering it was that day, he just let it go.

The sun was already setting when they decided to head back home. They couldn't let go of each other's hand all day, not that they wanted to.

They were walking through an empty street when Dazai squeezed Chuuya's hand a bit.

"Do you know what day is today, Chuuya?" He asked looking down a bit.

"Uhm, the 19th of June. Why?"

"Aaand?"

Chuuya looked at his partner with a confused look.

"Uhg I can't believe you've survived this far Chuuya, you're stupidity hurts sometimes." The taller one let out a long sigh.

"What did you just say, you useless mackerel?!" Chuuya turned to face the other and grabbed him by his shirt while he stood on his toes.

"It's my birthday. And yours was just a while ago as well." He leaned down and kissed Chuuya. It was just a bit more than a peck on his lips bit was enough for the smaller one to lose his balance. Dazai caught him and wrapped his hands around the ginger's slim waist.

"Happy late birthday, love." The brunette said as tender as ever. Chuuya has rarely heard him use this tone of voice.

"H-happy birthday, Osamu." Chuuya said back still caught a little bit off guard. He then shook his head a bit and pulled Dazai closer while wrapping his arms around his neck and kissed him.

After they arrived home they played some video games and fell asleep in Chuuya's bed cuddling with a smile on their lips which didn't happen often. This time it was because they could forget about their not-so-ordinary lives and responsibilities and could do whatever they wanted. It was because that they reminded them that even if the world is fucking cruel they still have each other to rely on.

Though things would change very soon for sure. But at least they could enjoy their time together for that one day.

A/N: I'm sorry for disappearing for so long ^^" I haven't had the motivation to write anything worth publishing. And even this turned out shit and short as hell. I haven't written shit in ages and I actually planned this one for last year to publish either on Chuuya's or Dazai's birthday. I know I'm late again, but even then and even if it's short and shit I wanted to publish it because this anime and these characters mean a lot to me even if I'm not really in the fandom anymore. That's another reason why it'll take longer for me to get back to writing. I wanna finish this fanfiction though because I've already planned out something for it.

Sorry for any mistakes! I've read through it several times but I'm a bit tired ^^"
