After the feast, we departed and retired to our houses for the night. I walked into my small willow and un-shuttered a lantern. The flame instantaneously lit up the room with a splash of hot colour. The wooden walls gleamed and had a warm glow. I fell over on to my bed and closed my eyes, reviewing the day's events. It all washed over me like a tidal wave. I pushed it aside and thought of Eldon.

   Where is he? I thought.

   I am here. He responded.

   Where?

A tree. I can come to you.

   Perfect.

Shortly after, Eldon's wings were audible and getting louder. Soon, there was a THUD and Eldon's face appeared in the window.

Hello, my friend. "What brings you here?" I joked. Eldon snickered in his own dragon way and hopped down. I walked over and opened the window to let the warm, moist air in. Eldon poked his head through and licked my face. I ignored the sting and instead enjoyed his company. It felt good to be with him again.

"I'm sorry," I said, looking down.

   For what.

For what happened yesterday. I didn't mean to bring you into this. I didn't mean for you to get hurt.

It's alright. I felt the same feeling as you. I felt a warm mental push, Eldon nudging my mind affectionately.

"Let's get some sleep. I have no idea what's planned for tomorrow."

In the morning, I woke up with Eldon half-way through the doorway and resting his head on my legs, puffing heavily and blowing my covers. A cool breeze gracefully blew the curtains and across my exposed feet at the end of my wood bed. I quietly stepped out of bed and stepped past Eldon to the basin where I splashed my face and took a drink of water. Then I went to a bowl of fruit and took the same spiky purple fruit and ate it. It was full of sweet, delicious juice.

Eldon woke shortly after. He lifted his head and yawned, displaying his array of razor sharp teeth. I threw him a scrap of meat from my bag which I discovered was beside my bed.

I forgot about that! I was glad Farwin grabbed that for me.

Good morning, Aaron. Eldon yawned again, shorter this time.

"We better get going!" I clapped. I walked outside with Eldon, bow in hand, and walked down a path through the forest until I reached the hall. I knocked twice. No answer. I knocked again and again, no answer. I started to walk away but the doors swung open just before I did.

"Hello?" A guard wore pale armour and a staff sword and shield stood in the doorway. He was lean and had deep green eyes like most elves.

"Is the queen here?" I asked.

The elf shook his head and answered, "No, she is in her room, why?"

"I need to speak with her, but if she isn't out, may you tell me where Farwin is?"

   "Who?"

   "Farwin."

The elf thought about it for a moment. "Are you talking about the white guardian?"

Now I was confused. "The White guardian? I'm talking about the elf that is to be guiding me . . ."

"Oh! Wait a minute, you're Aaron!"

How could this guy be serious!

"Yeah, he's waiting for you in the fields with Zatos." the guard nodded.
