Hey
It's Emma, this is my first book and I have no idea how it's gonna turn out. Soooo i hope you like it._____________________
"Noooo" I whined into my pillow for the 5th time this morning, to my mum who was trying to get me out of bed. Today was monday, 2 weeks before the end of school and also the first day of the exams. I know you need them and all but come on, give us a break. I'm not usually like this in the morning but last night I spent all night studying Shakespeare and shad finally fallen asleep at 2am.
"LIZZY COME ON GET OUT OF BED OR YOUR GONNA BE LATE" my mum shouted from the kitchen downstairs. This time I didn't answer but I soon felt the covers being ripped off my tired body.
'I didn't know my mum was so fast at walking up the stairs' I thought to myself, "alright alright I'm getting up" I lifted my body of the bed and into the shower.
Being July and with the grey cold weather we have here in London, I was hoping the water wasn't freezing. After 15 minutes, I climbed out of the shower and quickly dried myself.
Deciding what to wear was easy I guess. I just settled on my black leggings and a dark pink hoodie paired with my white converse. Comfy and casual.
Before I knew it, it was 7:50.
"Shit" I muttered "I'm gonna be late"
I grabbed my stuff and ran down the stairs, dumped my lunch into my bag and a snatched chocolate cereal bar for breakfast. I screamed 'bye' and ran out of the house.
Great, I have 2o minutes to get to school by walk.
I ran for 2 minutes and me being my unfit self, I stopped and got my cereal bar out of my pocket and walked the rest of the way there.
Oddly enough, I happened to run into Sophia, my best friend.
"You're not usually late, it's ten pa-"
"What the hell Liz, you scared the crap outta me, don't ever sneak up on me again" she said in a rage.
"Well sorry for not-" Once again I was stopped.
"It's ok, you were saying?" she continued.
"Oh yeah, you're not usually late what happened?"
"I couldn't find one of my books, my pencil box or my lucky bracelet and while I was looking for them, I lost track of time and yeah thats it really, how about you, you're never late" The tall, brunette girl said.
"Ok three things; if its your english book that you're looking for, I have it because you left it at my house last Friday. You had taken off your bracelet and put it in your jacket pocket for some reason or another and I'm late because I overslept" I said all in one breath.
Sophia stopped in her tracks to look at me wide eyed.
"What would I do without you!" She exaggerated.
Did I mention that Sophia makes a big deal out of everything?
"Any chance you know where my pencil box is too?" She asked.
"That, I dont know" I replied.
Finally, the school was coming into sight.
The bell rang as a sign to get to class. Sophia and I turned to look at each other then went our separate ways. No, we didnt have the same exams I had English and Biology and she had Math and History.
"Good luck!" Sophia shouted all the way from the other side of the hallway.
"You too" I said back trying not to attract many people's attention.
