In this shaken, twisted world, I gradually become transparent, unable to be seen.
Please don't bother looking for me, don't stare at me..
I merely don't want to hurt you, inside a world, that came out of someone's imagination.
So please remember...
Yoongi has always had a soft spot for Jimin. The younger has a gentle soul and is there for his friends when they need him. There has never been a reason to fear the boy with pinkish hair, chubby cheeks and a smile so bright it could light up the darkest of nights. But these days all he sees when he looks at the younger is death. Now that he knows that he is a dove he can definitely smell the distinct stench of the blood of ghouls on him. No matter how much he tries he cannot forget and the fear just spreads through his body as he has to suppress one panic attack after another in front of his friends. Yoongi can feel the worried gaze of Hoseok on him every day, can see how Jungkook subconsciously always places himself in between Jimin and his older brother. The smell of Jungkook's ukaku seems to thicken every time they are in the same room as the dove, he once viewed as a brother. Yoongi can't even be mad at the younger, it smells like home in the weirdest way, reminds him of the smell of his dad so much, he just cannot help but feel save. The worst thing is, he has not told Hoseok about the situation yet, could not bring himself to break the news to his friend although it is more than just necessary. His friend needs to know, needs to be more cautious around the dove. However, just thinking about it causes his heart to ache.
It is not fair....It is just really not fair, that suddenly his whole life, again, seems to be turned upside down. But when has life ever been to him? When has life ever not shown him how unworthy of a happy serene life he was? Life had always been cruel to him, had taken away almost everything from him.... Now Jimin as well.... So honestly it does not surprise Yoongi that Jimin seems to patrol his hunting grounds more and more, which makes him very paranoid, caused him to lose his appetite even though the monster inside of him thirsted for the taste of fresh human flesh that would just melt away under his tongue.... He is so incredibly hungry and even if Yoongi wanted to he just could not hunt. Jungkook seems to be more careless than him and it frightens his older brother. Every time Jungkook is out hunting he can't help but imagine the worst possible outcome as he crawls under his blanket and cries into Jungkook's pillow that still smells faintly like him. This is then how Jungkook finds him almost every night before he cuddles up to his older brother as he wraps himself around him to give him comforting tummy rubs that no matter the tears will always cause little content giggles to leave Yoongi. Yoongi then listens to his brother's whispered promises that he will stay alive and will never leave him. Oh how Yoongi wants to believe this. He really does, but he just can't. Not when at any given moment Jimin could unveil their secrets, not when he could walk into a dove while he is hunting. There are so many dangers that are so hard to keep an eye on. Thinking about it gives him a headache already.
A month. It takes Yoongi a month to finally give in to his hunger pangs. The hunger overwhelms him and buries his fears underneath it. He can feel the drool pool in his mouth and run down his chin, can feel his kagune go wild under his skin, how it bubbles heatedly just waiting to be released. Jungkook is the one this time that presses his mask to Yoongi's chest, who has to carry him to the window so they can both escape into the night on the search for food, the black cat and the killer bunny. They make their way to their territory, where they can hunt almost freely, a territory they had to fight for viciously so they could survive in the ghouls' cutthroat society. It is a chilly night, with the clouds covering the almost full moon. It cools down Yoongi's heated skin and has an almost sobering effect on his mind as he and Jungkook jump from rooftop to rooftop. It almost feels like he is flying as he stretches his arms out to the side, feeling the air move and shift under his fingertips. Yoongi senses how his eye shifts colour, how the darkness covers the immaculate white. It feels freeing in a way. The wind that blows that night carries the scent of human flesh to them, the scent of humans that do not care about their life enough to stay inside their own homes at night. Yoongi knows that they will taste a little bit bitter because of the alcohol they have consumed in the club they just visited. It feels euphoric to just think about it as he lets himself get lead by Jungkook. Finally they arrive at their destination as they look for the perfect little human to snack on. And they spot one, seeming so oblivious. It seems almost unfair how they won't even see it coming as they get killed from up above with nothing more than a stab of his rinkaku, that is already wrapping itself around his legs in excitement, pulsing in different shades of a toxic purple and pink in the form of what seems like tentacles but behave more like a kittens tail; it's just as jumpy and not covered in scales like other rinkakus. When the person is just about to pass their position, Jungkook takes the leap and jumps down to the person, his ukaku forming in a matter of seconds before he collides with the human. Yoongi hears a choked sound before.... Jungkook gets smashed against the wall of the opposite building by the human. A dove.
And that is when for the second time in a just few months Yoongi's heart shatters into thousand little pieces.
