The Gap

Lost

Ensnared

Chained

Dying from within

Deceived

Forgetting

Ignorant

Further losing grip of the inward being

The soul

Engulfed in the lusts of the flesh

Suffocated

Suppressed

Trampled upon

By this outward earthly shell that will someday expire

Deprived of the living waters

To quench its thirst,

Its quest to worship

The soul has lost a foothold

Overwhelmed by iniquity

The transgression of the flesh

Drawing it further from its creator

Yes it aches

It can already taste the torment it will endure if it does not gain a stronghold

Desperately it tries to gain a foothold

Alerting your conscience when you do something wrong

But still the flesh suppresses it

Slowly its slipping away

Unfed

Hungry

Thirsty

It can not fight any longer

It shrivels to nothing

Like a tree stump forgotten in the ground

There it remains

Quiescent

Not murmuring

Letting your flesh have its way

Hoping someday you will gain understanding

Discernment

That this world is not yours

You are here for just but a short while

Your life is like vapour

Like the flowers of the field

That flourish for a season

Scorched by the sun

They wither away

And nobody remembers they existed!

Then when its all said and done

GOD will take HIS spirit away

There it remains

Waiting to be watered

Nurtured

Fed

From HIS living word

That it may not endure the torture of hell

But enter HIS presence

Robed in white

Yes it aches

Awaiting resurrection

Listen to your inner man

It is there

Your soul

Let it worship the living GOD

That it may not be condemned

Wake up world!

Its a battle for the souls

Take up your cross daily

And follow HIM that saves
