Who are you trying to convince?

I woke up to a noise I didn't even have to open up my eyes to know that someone was standing over me. I sighed

“If you are standing there to kill me do it now if not move your ass” I said with a groan

“How about we don't be rude”

The voice was familiar and I dreaded to open my eyes as I knew who it was not only by the damn voice

“Oh gosh it's Satan” said Julie with a matching groan

I sighed “please get out”

“Nope” said another voice

My eyes popped open and there stood my father. I rolled my eyes

“Don't you ever go away satan?” I asked looking over at my mother “and dad how many times do I have to tell you to not wake me up with mom in the room?”

“A lot?” Julie said chiming in

“You guys are so disrespectful” mom said

“Only to you” Julie and I said together

“Mark come on say something please” She whined

“Candy, Julie come on now”

“Look you guys obviously came in here like creepers for a reason, so what is it?” I asked sitting up on my elbows

“Well we were wanting to do family time..” Dad said but I interrupted

“Didn't we learn from the last..” but dad interrupted

“Well we figured that Julie is such a big part of your life..”

“She is such a big part of your life to have her join us” Mom said quietly

Julie and I looked at one another and then eyed them

“What's the catch?” Julie asked

“Yeah what my sister said,” I said, glancing over at Julie then back at them

“No catch” mom said

“I’z don't believe you” Julie said crossing her arms

I followed suit

“Look how about we go to the movies or maybe an amusement park” mom suggested

I sighed “you're really trying to push this aren't you?”

“I am just trying to be more motherly” she said

I looked at Julie who was shaking her head

“Dad..” I said slowly

“She is trying” dad said

I rolled my eyes “she's only trying right now and then she is going to leave”

“I was thinking on trying to stay around” mom said quietly

Dad gave me that look and I can tell by his eyes he is hopeful.

“Out” I said “you woke me up for a damn joke”

“For real and there is no coffee” Julie muttered

I eyed her and shook my head. She put her hands up in defense “im being serious”

“Candy Julie please” dad said basically sounding like he was begging

Damn it

“Dad you and I both know you are hoping for something that is not going to happen. You are going to hope that she actually stays around and then bam when you least expect it she will leave and break your heart” I said “again”
