Chapter 12- It Only Beats For You

Chapter 12-

Hurry’s POV

Beep...Beep...Beep

I watched the heart rate monitor move at the exact same pace. Lily was laying there…lifeless. After the fight Louis and I had 2 weeks ago, I left to find Lily. She was curled up into a ball on the cement down an alleyway 34 blocks from the house. Her face was pale, and her lips were a mixed shade of blue and purple. Her beautiful dark green eyes were hidden by her pale eyelids. I yelled for help as I pulled Lily’s cold, fragile body into my chest. I started crying when I didn’t hear the fast pace of her heart beating. I yelled and screamed at the top of my lungs through my tears hoping to receive a response from anyone in the area. Luckily, there was an ambulance operator nearby that heard my frantic shouts. He came over and took Lily from me, putting her onto the stretcher and whisking her away to the hospital. I really thought I lost her. When I arrived at the hospital with Lily, they gave me a phone to call the boys. They all rushed to the hospital. When I was taking the call, I was tapped on the shoulder, and I turned around to see a doctor standing in front of me, holding a clipboard. I dropped the phone and started speaking with the doctor. He introduced himself as Dr. Williamson. “How is she” I asked, still worrying about Lily’s state. “Mr. Styles, it would be best if you take a seat.” Dr. Williamson said as he ushered me over to a nearby chair. I sat and watched as the doctor stood above me. “Mr. Styles. I am very sorry.” Dr. Williamson said, causing me to think the worst. My heartbeat steadied and slowed down as the horrible thoughts pushed and forcefully made their way into my mind. “Lily developed Hypothermia from being in the freezing cold. Unfortunately, she is not able to breathe on her own, and we have issued her in the state of a coma. Mr. Styles… It could be weeks before Lily wakes up and cooperates to the medication she has been given.” Dr. Williamson said as he knelt down so he was at my level. “Son, Lily is a fighter. She will make it through this.” The doctor said as he pat my shoulder, giving me reassurance. I nodded as a tear slid down my cheek. Dr. Williamson walked away and I got onto the ground and began to pray.

I was now sitting in Lily’s room, holding her hand, hoping that she would open her eyes any minute. I longed to see her smile again, see her bright green eyes that reminded me of gems, and to kiss her lips, portraying how much I love her… But the chances to that are little to none.

For some reason, I felt the need to talk to Lily. I wasn’t sure why, but my heart told me I needed to let the cooped words escape my tongue. I wasn’t sure if Lily would hear me, but anything was worth a shot. I scooted my chair closer to Lily’s hospital bed and I clenched onto her hand tighter.

“Okay Lily, I’m not really good at these kinds of things, and this might come out a little crazy or a little sideways, and I don’t know how long it will take me, but I’ll do my best. I am going to start off by saying that I love you so much. You mean the world to me, and I was crushed when I found out about the state that you are in now. I know that your chances of waking up from this are slim, but I just want to be with you. I don’t know what I will do if something even worse happens to you. Love, what I’m trying to say is, you are my one and only. My love for you will never fade, and it only gets stronger every second I am with you. I have never felt this way with anyone before. Lily Elizabeth Tomlinson, you complete me. Do you feel this? Yeah, it only beats for you. I need to see your smile, hear you say you love me, and kiss my lips. I don’t care what anyone else says about our relationship. It is here to stay, hopefully forever. I want you to be the one I spend the rest of my life with. I want to grow a family with you. You are the only girl I see, and the only one I will ever see. I can’t lose you Lily, like I said, I don’t know what I would do if that were to happen. I love you Lily. Hell, I’m IN love with you. I need you. Please.” I said as I kissed her hand. A tear slid down my cheek as I dropped my head into my free hand. I meant every word I said, and hopefully Lily heard every letter that escaped my lips.

Lily’s POV

I heard someone scoot their chair closer to me before speaking. It’s amazing how I’m in a coma, and I can hear everything that’s happening around me. I just wish I could respond so people know I am doing fine. I felt them clench tighter onto my hand. I didn’t know what they were about to do, so I tried to listen as carefully as I could.

Harry said to me. I felt like someone had hit me with a ton of bricks, but in a good way. My heart smiled, instead of my mouth. I tried to tighten my grip on harry’s hand, to let him know I heard every word, but it was so use. I then moved onto trying to open my eyes… Failed attempt. I just had to keep on trying. I moved back to clenching my fingers. Surprisingly… They moved! I once again tried to open my eyes, and they opened! “Lily?” Harry whispered through his falling tears. “Hi Haz” I croaked, barely being able to breathe. “Bloody hell Lily, I thought I lost you” Harry said before leaning over the bed side to pull me into a hug. He crashed his lips into mine as my heart monitor began to beat faster. “Sorry” I chuckled. “Don’t be, I think it’s cute” Harry said before pulling away and calling the boys. I grabbed the bottle of water off of the bed side table and took a sip. “The boys are on their way. They can’t wait to see you” Harry said before rushing over to me once again and grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers together. He looked down at the IV snaking through my hand. “Lily, I am so sorry about what happened. Louis is too.” Harry said, still focusing on our now attached fingers. “Harry, its fine. It’s not your fault okay? It just got out of hand, and everything is fine.” I said as I extended my index finger under Harry’s chin and lifted it up so he was at my eye level. He smiled which made me blush, which I haven’t done in a long while. “Oh, and Harry, we will be together forever… I promise.” I said reffering to Harry’s speech moments earlier. He finally caught on and crashed our lips together once again. I smiled at the thought of growing old with Harry, and living every moment with him right by my side.
