The scene was beautiful so pure and clean, it took my breath away every single time.
I took steady steps towards the lake feeling the water slowly hitting my bare feet. The soft waves reached the shallow rocks nearby making soft splashes as they broke against the hard surface.
This was the place where I felt happy. I could breath. I could feel and I felt alive.
I walked deeper into the water before something caught my eye.
I swam closer and closer until recognizing what it was. An old book, floating around.
I lifted it up expecting it to be soaking wet, but I was wrong. I turned the cover curiously and saw the worn out pages, the book was old much much older than me.
My eyes found the ink on one of the pages, the ink was black and it wasn't faded at all. The words caused a shiver run straight down my spine.
" Guard this with your life " The message was strong and clear. I knew that was what I needed to do, it was the only option and I was definitely not going to fail.
I held the book tightly against my chest as I walked away from the lake, something about it felt strangely personal. I was not going to tell anyone, even the thought about it made my pulse quicken and palms sweat. My lips were sealed.
I flipped through the vulnerable pages desperately trying to find something more.
I needed more information. I had never seen anyone at the lake before.
I reached my hand to touch the letters and the ink stained ny fingertips making me gasp for air. The ink was still fresh. That was impossible I thought while shaking my head lightly and decided to go to bed. Maybe this is just a dream I thought before pressing my head against the soft pillow.
