Waking Up

*Nico*

I wake up to the sound of someone softly snoring, an unfamiliar weight on my stomach. When I open my eyes I am instantly confused at what I see through the blinding light coming from above me. Percy is standing beside the bed, Will resting his head on my stomach as he sleeps soundly.

"Percy?"

He looks down at me, smile spreading across his face at the sound of my voice. I wince when I realise how weak my voice is, making me wonder how long I've been sleeping for.

"How're you feeling?"

"Tired, mostly, a bit confused I guess."

He tips his head slightly, eyes flicking down to look at Will before he speaks again.

"Hazel is worried about you, I sent her an Iris message and she almost came over. I told her to stay though, we're heading over to New Rome soon anyways."

I nod, absentmindedly reaching out to run my fingers through Will's hair as Percy continues speaking.

"Listen, Nico, I promised Annabeth I'd help her with something tonight, but you let me know if you need anything, alright?"

He smiles sadly, ruffling my hair before he leaves, leaving me alone with Will. My face heats up, blush spreading as I realise that we are completely alone, as they moved me from the main floor to a separate room while I was sleeping. The door opens again, revealing one of Will's siblings, Kayla I think.

"Will?"

Her hair falls across her face, blue eyes piercing as she stares at me for a moment before moving to wake Will.

"Come on, you need to get up. "

He sits up quickly, nearly falling out of his chair as he stands.

"I'm up....I'm up. What's wrong?"

"Your shift is over, you need to go back to the cabin and get some rest."

He pulls a lock of hair off of his lips, wiping the drool off his chin. I catch myself staring, turning my attention to the mostly blank wall behind him. A few spots of paint look scuffed, and a solitary spider rests in a web strung up in the corner.

"I'll be fine, we don't have enough people in here right now as it is."

"You can't sleep in here, when was the last time you were at the cabin anyways?"

Will thinks for a moment, brow furrowed as he does the math. He bites his lip, running a hand through his hair as he gets more flustered.

"I'm not sure, I was headed back from my shift, then I stopped by to talk to Nico, then I ended back here again."

She frowns, muttering something about him needing more sleep before she runs off to finish her rounds.

"So..."

Will jumps at the sound of my voice, blushing severely when he turns to face me. I try to keep a neutral expression, failing miserably when I notice the red tint to his lips from him biting them, a small detail that drives me crazy.

"I was ummm...I was just checking in on you, and then you grabbed my wrist and I...I may have fallen asleep, slightly. I'm sorry..."

I realise that seeing him flustered is making me blush, face heating up in embarrassment the longer he is staring at me.

"I need to go...go do some stuff...for ummm..."

He trails off, running a hand through his hair as he tries to be a tad more articulate, making me more flustered than I was before. He finally stops trying when he realises I'm not responding, patting me awkwardly on the shoulder and reminding me to stay in bed before he runs out to go do something else.
