*Will*

"I've got to get back to the infirmary today Nico, things are slowing down but they still need me in."

He nods, still focused on something that is happening across the lawn, and I soon realise he is watching a group of newcomers training with Percy and Annabeth.

"Nico? Are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

Clearly he isn't, but I decide not to push the issue too much right now. He leans against my side, reaching out to grab my hand as I wrap my other arm around his waist.

"What else are you doing today?"

"I'm not sure, probably nothing. I do think that, maybe, if you're careful, a tad bit of light training might not be a bad idea. So long as you're careful and I can come with you."

He sits up instantly, a wide grin breaking out across his face.

"Are you serious?"

I nod, already starting to regret putting the idea into his head, but it's too late now to take anything back.

"Define 'light training' for me."

"No magic. Take breaks if you feel faint. I think you know exactly what I mean."

He grins, leaning into me and wrapping his arms around my waist as he looks up at me.

"And, I want you training with Percy. Him and Annabeth are training some of the new campers today, that shouldn't be too hard on your body."

I steel myself for an argument, surprised when Nico nods. Percy and Annabeth take him into their group instantly, agreeing to keep an eye on him so I can head back to the infirmary for my next shift. Nico grins at me as he waves goodbye, one hand already on his sword in preparation for whatever comes next. I have to remind myself that Annabeth will keep the boys in check, but part of me can't help wondering if he'll be okay. Kayla is in the infirmary when I walk in, shaking her head to see me back in so soon, but handing me a stack of clipboards nonetheless. Thankfully it's a stack of easy patients, minor burns and injuries from capture the flag, because I can hardly keep my focus long enough to do anything. Every time the door opens my heart drops, but Nico doesn't end up coming in, not til the end of my shift.

"You coming to campfire Solace?"

I whip around to see Nico standing just behind me, grin plastered across his face.

"Are you okay? You didn't get hurt did you?"

"I'm fine Will."

He shoves my hand away from his head, ducking to avoid me ruffling his hair again. I realise he shouldn't be finished training yet, but the smile seems forced and his movements are slower than they were before training.

"Are you tired?"

"A little, I'm fine though."

"You sure?"

He nods, letting the smile drop as he leans closer to me. I pull him into a hug, telling him to go get some rest in his cabin before dinner.
