Camila was amazed as she walked into the busy theatre.

"Dinah. Are you holding the ladder?" A voice shouted.

"No I'm just going to let you fall. Of course I'm holding the ladder."

Camila saw two girls, one on top of the ladder and one holding the bottom. The one standing on the ladder had been securing a gear to the set.

"They're impossible aren't they? I have worked with them for a very long time and they can never behave themselves." A taller woman came over and stood behind Camila. "I'm Demi, set manager, you know who Dinah is and the one who is climbing down the ladder is Lauren. They are both set designers and they work back stage during the plays."

Demi looked Camila up and down.

"Are you part of the cast?"

"Y-yes" Camila stuttered "I'm playing the part of Elphaba"

"Whoa. Okay. Big shot on set. I thought you were just part of the ensemble, I didn't realise that you were one of the two leads. Here I'll show you to the dressing room."

Demi lead Camila past the now grounded Lauren who was arguing with Dinah.

"Ally, meet your Elphaba" Demi led Camila to a shorter girl who was smiling brightly.

"Oh wow, yep, you will be a perfect Elphaba. I'm Ally and I'm playing Glinda." The short girl stuck her hand out and Camila hesitantly shook it.

"Normani!! Come here." Demi shouted startling Camila.

"This is Normani, choreographer. These are your two girls."

"Thanks Dems. Now, could you go stop your two set designers. Because either Lauren is going to kill Dinah and I will be a widow or Dinah will kill Lauren and I'll have to visit her in prison" Normani said, just before a loud crash could be heard from the set.

"Lauren what did you do?"

"Me? What did you do?" Lauren shouted back.

"Those two" Demi growled.

"They are actually good at what they do. I've worked with them on a few projects. They killed it in Les Mis. That set rocked. So I'm the choreographer, I work mainly with the ensemble but I'll still be working with you. Now you guys are just here to be measured for wardrobe and you'll have to get your scripts ready for tomorrow's table read."

Camila's day passed as a blur, rushing between being measured for her costumes to meeting the cast and crew to starting to read the script with Ally and Austin, the man who would be playing Fiyero.

"Okay, you two I'm calling it a day. Now get off the stage before you break it" Demi yelled at Lauren and Dinah.

The two were about to fight to the death using a nail gun and a drill.

"Ugh I need a drink" Normani flopped into the seat next to Camila.

"Lauren, Dinah baby- this is Camila, she's Elphaba, you get to string her up"

"What?" Camila looked between the two confused.

"During Defying Gravity, we attach you to the flying cables" Dinah answered before giving Normani a kiss.

"Don't worry... Camila... Nah I don't like it... Camz, Camz is better. I'm good at what I do." Lauren winked at Camila before turning to Ally. "And I'll make sure that you are strapped to your bubble don't worry"

"So I heard something about a drink before. What are we waiting for lets go" Austin stood and held his hand out to Camila.

The group sat at a table near the billiards table and talked while some played pool.

Camila was failing at potting a ball when a slender yet strong pair of arms wrapped around her.

"Here, let me show you" A husky voice whispered into her ear.

"T-thanks" Camila's stutter brought a chuckle out of Lauren.

Once Camila had got the hang of it Lauren moved and went to order another beer from the bar.

Camila stared and saw that while Lauren waited she shamelessly flirted with a waitress.

"Lauren likes to get into anyone's pants. I love her. She's a close friend but damn she's a player. Although I'll let you in on a little secret. She will settle down for one girl only" Demi told Camila as the singer leant over the table to try and put a ball.

"And why doesn't she?" Camila questioned.

"Because Lauren is different from other girls and she doesn't know how to tell the girl she loves that".

"Well I wish her luck" Camila shrugged.

"If she comes on to you, just tell her that you want to be friends. She will respect your privacy, she would never force anyone to do anything"

Camila looked back over to the bar where Lauren was pocketing the waitresses number.

She saw the possibility of a good friend in Lauren. In everyone here really.

This was going to be one interesting play.
