I wake up, not to the soud of my alarm clock, but to my phone ringing.
Groaning, I take my phone out of my bedside table, and before answering the phone, I see what time is, and, unfortunately, it's 6:30AM.
Who the hell is calling me at th-oh, it's my mom.
I answer the call.
-Good morning sweetie!- my mom says happily
-'mornin mom- I say, not so enthusiastically
-Did I wake you up Emmy?- my mom asks, and before I could answer, she talks again- it doesn't matter, you should already be awake by now.
-But mom, my classes start at-I look at my schedule that's on the wall- 10AM.
-Oh well, I missed you, since you moved out-
-I'm not that far away mom, besides, I only moved out so I could be closer to the University, and then I don't have to sleep on those gross dorms-I say, and scrunch up my nose at the thought
-I know, I know.
I look at my dog that is sleeping peacefully beside me.
Lucky.
-Emma, did you hear me?- my mom's voice brings me back to reality
-Uh, not really, could you repeat?
-I said that your father would be very proud of you-she says and I feel tears welling up in the corner of my eyes
-I-I know.
-Hey, I don't want you to be sad on your first day! See it on the positive side, you can meet your soulmate!
When she says this, it doesn't mean I'll find a boyfriend or some shit, it's literally my soulmate.
We all are born with a small tattoo, and as the years pass the tattoo gets clearer, for example, I got mine fully when I was 15, it's a rose, I love it.
Moving on, when you are beside your soulmate, the tattoo starts to shine, and that's when you know, oh, and your tattoo will be the same as your soulmate.
-Maybe yes, maybe not, we don't know-I say with a smile-Well, mom, I better start getting ready if I don't wanna be late to class
-Ok Emmy, call me before going to sleep, ok?
-Ok mom, I love you, goodbye!
-I love you too Emma-she says and hangs up the phone.
