That morning I woke up a lot later than usual, half because I didn't have my alarm set, and half because of where I was sleeping. I know I should have been even slightly concerned about the man that was under me, but I just couldn't. I felt so safe here in his arms, and I'd just met him.
Stop this! You don't have time for a boyfriend! I told myself.
He started to stir a bit, and then woke up.
We both sat up in silence.
"Hi." He said, grinning. He looked
So handsome, his hair was slightly messy, and he had a deeper morning voice.
"Hi yourself." I replied.
"Oh, uh. Sorry." He said, scooting over.
"No, it's fine." I reassured him.
We sat there in silence, once again.
"Want any coffee?" I asked.
"No, I'm fine." He said, looking at his hands.
"Everything okay?"
"What? Oh, yeah, I just have a lot of things on my mind."
"I'm always here to listen."
"Well, theres this girl." He started.
Great, he likes someone else. I knew I shouldn't have let myself like him.
"Mmhmm." I said, trying to not sound disappointed.
"She's beautiful, charming, hard
working, intelligent, and so much more." He continued.
"She's lucky." I said softly.
"And I remember, I saw her in the park, for the first time, and I just stared, because she looked so beautiful, and I decided to talk to her. Turns out, we really connected. I'm really starting to like her, a lot. I feel so comfortable around her already, and her name makes me smile so hard. Her name, is Beth."
My heart stopped.
"W-what?" Is all I could stammer out.
"I really like you Beth, I know that sounds pretty pathetic, but it's true." He said, looking me in the eyes.
What do I do? Of course I like him! I can't bring myself to say anything, but one thought popped into my head.
Fuck it.
I crashed my lips onto his. He was taken by surprise, but soon melted into the kiss. We both pulled away and looked into each others eyes.
"So, does this mean that you would like to go on a date with me?" He asked.
I giggled and replied, "I'd love too."
