Isabelle and Clarke climbed out from under the dropship as Jasper's voice called through the walkie with excitement. "Raven! Your mines worked!" Isabelle raised her eyebrows with parted lips, looking between the girls with an answer. "Jasper knows how to splice!"

Raven shook her head, "are you sure? It's not as difficult as you think —"

"I remember him telling me a while ago." Isabelle waved her hand, cutting Raven off with a playful roll of her eyes. "One of his many adventures with Monty."

Clarke took the walkie from Raven and brought it to her lips. "Jasper, we need you in the dropship right now." There was static between the lines until Bellamy spoke through, "negative. We can't give up the west woods."

"The west woods are mined Bellamy," Clarke argued. "The grounders just figured that out." Isabelle nodded her head in agreement as the blonde ordered Jasper to return to the dropship immediately.

When Jasper entered the dropship, the girls explained the situation and ordered him to get under the floor and help splice the wires to finis with the plan once and for all. He didn't hesitate to climb down, but the anxious feeling started to climb at the back of Isabelle's neck as she kept glancing towards the opening of the dropship.

"Isabelle?" Clarke suddenly spoke up, gaining the her attention as she looked at the blonde worriedly. "Belle—"

"Finns still not back yet," she chewed on her bottom lip, listening closely as Bellamy instructed everyone not to waste ammunition. "What if he's hurt? What if he didn't get it? What if—" before Isabelle could finish her sentence, Finn ran into the dropship with fire in his lungs from the amount of running he had pulled off. "I got it!" He quickly tossed Clarke the medicine then dragged his fingers through his hair tiredly.

"Finn!" Isabelle shouted, her arms wrapped around his waist with a sigh of relief escaping her lips. He hugged her back just the same before placing his hands on her shoulders and turning to the girls, "we have to get everyone in side right now." He instructed with panic. "The amount of grounders coming; we can't win this fight."

Clarke quickly injected the medication into Raven's body. A loud bang coming from the further walls out in the field caused Isabelle to visibly flinch.

She looked directly towards the door, her blood beginning to run cold as Jasper popped his head out from the floor. "I did it— I think."

"Our people," Isabelle whispered. "We have to get them inside." Her arms dropped from holding Finn as she pushed past him.

"Isabelle, Wait!" Finn called out for her but she didn't stop. Her feet carried her out of the dropship and into the night where bullets were flying and screams were heard from both her friends and the grounders. Her heart thumped against her chest wildly as she looked around in frantic. "Everyone, get inside, right now!" She screamed, pointing towards the dropship.

Nobody protested her order as several teenagers started making their way into the dropship but others remained. They stayed in their designated spots to continue their first order; defending camp.

Isabelle felt helpless and fooled. Foolish for thinking they could ever make it through the night. To think everything was going to be okay. She knew hiding in the drop ship would do them no good, but the grounders were already here. There was a war right out front of their gates and there was no longer anything anyone could do. The previous tears she managed to keep locked away before finally formed in her eyes as her fear was starting to break free.
