Hi there! It's Evan again! So if you're reading this, you've just finished reading this short story I wrote up during a writing workshop in school. The host, Mrs. Sharon Bakar literally gave us time limits for our stories, so I barely managed to get Waffles out.

It was incomplete back then, but I picked it up a few months later and decided to complete it. It's the first time I'm writing shorts, and I really enjoy it because it is so different from my usual novels. For one, the ending is quite visible, so I don't have to worry about the plot. Besides, shorts help me convey messages that I want to give other people. Who knows? Might help them :)

Waffles was a simple story. Mike lost his best friend, and finds a box that was left behind by her. In this story, what I wanted to say was simple.

It's alright. Everything is okay.

In life, we face many trials and challenges, some more painful and emotionally taxing than others. Some of us never make it out of the unending cycle of pain and guilt, but for those that do, they learn to look at life in a new way.

Start appreciating everything around you. Forget, but don't completely forget about past mistakes or unfortunate incidents. Life is a journey, where things are bound to happen.

So please, don't stay stuck. Life is too short for us to pause and stop.

Be happy. It's all that matters.
