The morning air was chilly, the winds slapped against Messer's face as he walked down the road thinking about what to do. Should he call the captain or go in on his own guns blazing? Meh, probably doesn't matter anyway. The captain will get to know about it, either through him or someone working at the firm. He shrugged his shoulders and pulled his coat tighter against him as he walked. Maybe this is what people in the Artic feel like he thought to himself. As he rounded the corner of the street a familiar voice called out to him "Messer you not going there alone, you know I won't let you". Messer turned around to face his partner "I wasn't leaving you Flak.... Just waiting for you to catch up really" he smiled turning around and continuing his walk. "Yeah right we both know that's a load of bull. Here's my car. We'll drive there, it will be much faster I believe." Flak unlocks his car and jumps in "I'm not going to wait all day for you man, so either hurry along or I'll leave you and you won't get to come" He started the car and the engine roared to life seemingly just as enthusiastically as Messer was to get there. Messer shrugged and sighed it's not that he didn't want Flak to come but he was more of a police type of guy and Messer was all roll with the flow and both of those don't get on well when you are interviewing a suspect. "Fine, I'll ride with you, but I won't have you playing that awful music of yours. It is worse than having my head bashed against a trash can" he jumped in and put his seatbelt on. "Damn, why you have to be so harsh to my music. It's what the kids are listening to these days" Flak said as he pulled away from the curb. "Yeah well, these kids today are out here killing people so maybe it is time to rethink your music choice".

The building itself loomed large over the city district it covered. There was no way you could miss a building like it. It was built for show and strength and that is what it stood for. You knew you were either in for a hell of a fight or you were going to have the greatest partner in any legal battle. The floors were clean, almost too clean for a building that was as busy as this. Everyone moved about seemingly very busy with something or the other. Messer and Flak made their way to the reception. Sitting behind the counter was a lovely young lady, possibly early to mid 20's, dressed from head to toe in the latest fashionable suit and heels. Any young guy would be mad not to come over and speak to her. "Well aren't you a sight to see in the afternoon" Messer stood in front of the counter, seemingly mesmerized by her beauty. "The say coffee wakes a man up but you darling, you can wake a man up and keep him up the whole day and night just thinking about how stunning you are" he smirked and tapped Flak "Don't you think so?" Flak rolled his eyes. "Yeah definitely... anyway we need to speak to Mr James. Is he in by any chance?" He asked taking out his badge and showing her "It's police business and we need to speak to him". Her eyes were on Messer as were his on hers. She blushed and smiled as she checked the book. "He is but unfortunately he's in a meeting. If you want I can always schedule a meeting..." she says sweetly before Flak cuts her off "This is police business, if you don't want to get arrested for obstruction of justice I suggest you get him on the phone and call him" he says whispering angrily leaning so far across the reception desk you could swear that he was about to jump over. Her face turns from pure happiness to a mix of shock and scaredness. "But but..." she begins to say terrified before Messer pulls Flak back and holds him by his sides dragging him away. He comes back to her "Now my friend is overly excited, first day on the job sort of thing but if you could be a darling and just point me in the right direction I will make sure I teach him a very respectful lesson on how he should treat a lady of your wonderful standing" he spoke so smoothly, with a sense of charm and sincerity, it would be hard not to believe him "I won't tell them where I got it from. These lips will be sealed" he smirked as he grabbed the paper, she very sweetly gave to him.

"So, did you get it?" Flak smirked as Messer walked over to him "Of course, meeting room 506" he winked as they walked towards the lift "What's the paper for?" Messer looked at him and smirked "Well I can't remember her number, so I had to write it down, works every time" he pressed the up button and they waited for the lift together grinning like two idiots.

The lift stopped at several floors before it finally came to rest on the 50th floor. The two detectives stepped out and made their way towards the conference room. They looked extremely out of place, wearing their coats and unpolished shoes walking amongst rich suits and foreign shoes. They were easy to spot out, each room they passed drew the eyes of those that were busy with their work. "Normally I only turn heads like this at the club"Flak smirked as he walked. "Yeah that's cause you always there to shut down the party" Messer laughed as they stopped outside the conference room 506. "What the hell..." the conference room was made out of glass. Standard practice for rich firms. "These nobody here Messer" Flak opened the door and walked in. The chairs were neatly set as if nobody had entered the room the whole morning. "Your sweetheart played as like a fool Messer. Damn it" Flak hit the table out of anger. "Relax she didn't lie, she just informed them of our arrival. They probably moved to another room. Look the coffee spill here is still wet. They were here Flak. They probably just down the hall." Messer walked off out of sight as Flak sat on one of the chairs mumbling to himself about being outplayed or some sorts. Messer didn't have time to dawdle around. He knew that Mr James had some ilmportant clients around and if word got out the cops were here that could potentially destroy the deal. He was looking for someone important, someone that could possibly help him. As he turned the corner, his eye fell upon yet another lovely young lady. He approached her from behind and ever so subtly whispered in her ear "Tell Mr James to come and see me in room 506 before I storm into his meeting and inform his clients of my presence. He's got 5 minutes before I come there." He backed away and she turned around meeting his deadly glare and scurried away. Messer went back to the conference room to find Flak pacing up and down. "What are we going to do? I suggest we go door to door and find him before we leave" He was puffed up and ready to storm out before Messer stopped him. "Can you relax, he'll be here in five minutes if not you can go searching for him, but I will go home. If he doesn't come, he isn't here" Messer shrugged his shoulders and sat down resting his legs on the chair, closing his eyes and sighing out loud listening to the noise of the busy lawyers typing away at their laptops and endlessly spitting out the law to their clients over the phone charging them the same price if they had come to them. The life of the rich. The life of people who earned money to lie, that's what some would say but Messer didn't care how people made money, as long as it didn't break the law. Less work for him as he saw it. Not even two minutes had gone by when the glass door was flung open and a well-dressed man walked in looking like he was ready for a fight. "Now which one of you decided to harass my secretary?" he asked almost demanding to be answered. "Ah Mr James, so you have decided to see us. Sit down let's speak". Messer didn't even open his eyes. "Take your cheap shoes off my table. It's worth more than your salary" he snapped looking straight at Messer with the eyes of a demon.
