"Hey Babes!"
"Shut up, shut up, shut up." I tell Monique as I run and hide behind the counter.
"Sorry?" She asks in the most British way possible.
"Fuck your stupid accent."
"What the hell? What are you doing on the floor?" She gives me a worried look before greeting a pair of business man behind the counter.
"Blair, what th-" Monique speaks but I interrupt her. "Can you please get down here, I can't be seen."
I see her look around the lobby before sliding down her chair and sitting across from me on the floor.
"Who found you?"
"What? No one. Why? Did anyone ask for me?" I ask her worriedly, the last thing I need is the Steffan-drama and the Harry-drama to join forces.
"What? No. I mean, except for Harry but that's nor-"
"Oh god." I cry emotionally and Monique slaps me on the knee, stopping my Oscar worthy dramatization.
"Spill." She commands but then stops me before I even get a chance to begin. "Wait. Before your obviously dramatic story," Monique says rolling her eyes playfully at me, "did you meet with Harry yesterday?"
I open my mouth to ask her what she's talking about, but my throat has gone dry.
Oh god.
"Harry went to the Callahan's looking for... me?"
Monique thinks I'm joking, and she laughs at my question but when I don't join her, she speaks again in a hushed tone. "You're kidding right? He even left early to come see you!"
"Oh god." I repeat this time out loud and I'm able to see in Monique's eyes the transition from confusion to realization.
"Fuck, Blair." She sighs. "What did you do?"
"It was hormones! I just got my period today, so of course everything makes sense now but- yesterday. Oh my God, yesterday was the definition of social suicide."
She snorts but doesn't add anything to the conversation so, I continue telling my misfortune.
"After we came back from Kensington, Jeremy was walking me to th-"
"Who's Jeremy?" Monique interrupts me.
"A guy who is perfect but not into us."
"Typical." She shakes her head and I laugh. "Go on, then." She instructs and I do.
"The thing is, Harry finds me and Jeremy together, right? He gets all weird an-"
"Jealous?" She interrupts me again.
"Yes! That's what I thought but when I confronted him about it, he was all li-"
"You confronted him about it?!" Monique practically yells at me.
"Dude, that's not even the worst thing. Literal tears, came out of my eyes." I tell her with a straight face and she shrieks.
"You cried? You cried because he didn't get... jealous?" Monique asks me and her words sting a little.
"The judgement in your voice? Tone it down a little, please." What's left of my dignity whispers at her and she snorts.
"Monique?" A voice calls for her from behind the counter and she sighs before getting up and smiling at the person.
