I grew weary one afternoon. I was walking for hours on end, to the point that I can't see clearly. My tiredness took the best of my vision, yet somehow I can still manage to see the bright lights of the lamp-post, guiding me home.
When I walk, I don't pay much attention to the things around me. Most of the time, I look at my feet or the lights. I am just not that easily amazed by the things that show up near me whilst I travel, maybe that's why I tend to go lost.
But, while I was walking, I got a sudden urge to look at where I am heading. Then, I saw this woman in front of me. I didn't see her clearly at first, maybe it's because I was getting to tired to even see.
As I grew closer to her, I could now see what she kind of looks like. She was wearing the same uniform as me, but somehow hers was all too dirty.
"What could she have done to get this disgusting?"
I kept on walking, to the point that I am getting very close to the woman. I am not the type of person who is very social, I am the type of person to distance herself from the crowd. So, I slowed down a bit so that she could get much more ahead of me.
For some reason, she did the same. The very close distance before remained, as the day gets more and more dim. Due to her proximity, I analyzed this woman once more. She had dark brown hair, same as mine, and seems to also have a fairly dark complexion.
I made myself slower again, and like the last time she is still near me. I thought that by doing this she would've been way ahead of me by now.
"Is this woman reading my mind right now?"
I no longer paid much attention to her when I finally reached the final street.
*ring*
My phone rang. The phone call made me stop walking.
"Must be mother."
As I reach for my phone, the urge to see what is ahead of me struck me again. That's when it hit me.
The woman also stopped in front of me, and, for some reason, also reaching for her phone.
"Is she copying me?"
The silence of the street grew larger accompanying the ringing of the cellular phone.
My nervousness got the best of my limbs, I felt more and more weak. But I gathered up my courage and walked to the woman to comfront her.
She also started walking. With all my remaining strength, I tried to ran towards her. She too began to run.
As I reached the middle of the street, she stopped. I finally get to finish this madness once and for all."Ma'am, I don't know what you are trying to do, but-"
As she turned around in front of me, I saw with great confusion and fear my own self.
"I tried to stop it..."
Suddenly, this bright light came hurdling towards me. As I lay lifeless on the pavement, I saw me, wander in the streets.
