Red.

Cut the girl and see the red.

See the red come pouring down.

Down, down, down it goes.

Know you caused the red, caused the pain, caused the suffering.

But that's what they did.

They caused you pain. Give it to them in return.

Be a monster.

Become the monster that will tear this hell apart.

Become the monster that will return you to heaven.

Buffy stood in a daze, her sanity slipping back into her mind. She looked at her hands, she could see the red, the blood from Willow. The knife fell on the floor, causing echoes around the house, and her senses to come back to her. She blinked rapidly and fell to the floor. She clutched her head in her hands, and began to sob.

Willow lay on the floor in shock. She'd just been stabbed by Buffy. Out of all the people, Spike, a vampire, a demon, Faith... she never would have known Buffy had it in her to stab her best friend. Willow never saw it coming. When Buffy walked up to her, holding the knife, Willow thought that Buffy would suddenly start crying, drop the knife, and say she was sorry, instead Buffy stabbed her. Buffy didn't cry after. She just stood there, shocked.

Dawn saw the whole thing.

She stood just outside the doorway, her feet glued to the floor. She wanted to help Willow, but she didn't want to infront of her sister, who must've lost her mind this time, in case Buffy stabbed her, and decided to go on a killing spree, so she just stayed put. She'd just called the Magic Box, and Xander, Anya and Giles were on their way over, with weapons. Dawn knew Tara was at the Magic Box as well, but she told Giles not to bring her and instead tell her to watch guard of the shop just in case. Dawn didn't want Tara to see what had happened to Willow.

The next few minutes happened in a blur; Xander, Anya and Giles rushed inside, there were quite a few gasps, Giles told Dawn and Xander to take Willow to the hospital, Anya helped Giles with Buffy, who had gone quite still all of a sudden, as Giles took out a syringe from his pocket, that he got from the Magic Box, and slid it gently in her arm. Then Giles and Anya brought Buffy to her room once Buffy became unconsious.

An hour later, the phone rang. Anya rushed to answer the phone while Giles stayed in Buffy's room to watch her. When Anya stepped into the kitchen, she saw Willow's blood on the floor, then walked over to the phone, picked it up and put it against her ear.

"Hello?" Anya said, balancing the phone on her shoulder so she could grab some paper towel to clean up the blood on the kitchen floor.

"Anya?" Xander said on the other line.

Anya stood up straighter when she heard Xander's voice.

"Xander? Oh my god, is Willow okay?"

"Willow's fine, An. I just wanted to know how is everything? With Buffy, I mean."

Anya sighed and shook her head, then knowing Xander couldn't see her she sighed again, but this time louder to prove a point of being annoyed.

"We're not sure. Giles has her sedated right now. He said he'll go out and get some chains or rope in case things get bad."

"Oh, okay. I was about to say 'good' but I don't think that would've been very... appropriate."

Anya frowned. What made saying the word 'good' so inappropriate? What if you say, 'this cake is good', does that mean it tastes bad? If so, she could say bunnies are good, if good means bad. You could say you're 'good' or 'fine' when you're not. Amazing, really, how a word can have many different meanings. Anya shook her head, and cleared her throat.
