DEREK

The first time I saw Violet, granted you wouldn't think she was at her best, but she almost stopped my heart with one look.

She was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. Her tight yoga pants might have been part of the reason I couldn't help but stare as she jogged by. But her flushed face and bright eyes had etched themselves in my brain. I hadn't been so stricken by a woman in a very long time.

I had to stop myself from laughing when she ran into that pole. I wanted to make fun of her and kiss her pain away all at the same time. My head was spinning and I figured I might have pushed myself a little too hard during training.

And listen, I wasn't the romantic type of guy that believed in faith and all that, but when I got her call it hit me like a ton of bricks. What were the odds?

I was also not the type of guy who got nervous. Especially not around women. But for some reason that woman had me in knots.

When I saw her in class I almost drooled all over the fucking floor. She was beautiful from far, but damn was she stunning from up close. Way out of my league, but hey, I was always up for a challenge. And having to calm my trembling hands after basically staring at her like a creep for an hour was definitely not one of my finest moments.

I always made it a rule not to date clients. It was pretty much my number one rule since I'd started the gym. I'd gone out with my fair share of women, don't get me wrong, but I worked my ass off to build a business and I wasn't going to let my reputation suffer because of a girl. I could meet women practically everywhere else anyways.

But Violet... she was different somehow. I didn't even know her but her deep dark eyes made me willing to risk things I wouldn't normally put on the line.

When I'd touched her soft, caramel skin it had sent a jolt straight to my balls, and I couldn't stop imagining what she would look like naked. Naked and on top of me.

I'd had to redirect my thoughts quickly before I started tenting my shorts. She did things to my mind that were foreign to me. All I knew was that I needed more.

She'd seem reluctant to spend any amount of time with me at the end of class, but that was ok. If she came back I'd have more time to find out what she needed, what made her tick, what kind of man she wanted, and to become that man. Because I already knew she would have me wrapped around her little finger in no time, and there wasn't anything I could do to stop it. All I could do now is pray that she didn't already have a boyfriend. But it's not like it would be surprising. A girl like that surely has a ton of men falling at her feet.

I mean, I didn't want to read too much into it, but I thought I'd seen a glimmer of lust shoot through her beautiful features when we'd shaken hands. But then again, sometimes we see what we want to see.

I couldn't wait until next week. And if she didn't show up, I might casually stand on my front lawn a little more than usual hoping for her to pass by so I could strike up a conversation. Was that creepy? Pathetic? Maybe, but I didn't really care. It was the whole point of me staying after class and waiting for her's to finish to introduce myself. That way, if she didn't come back she'd at least know who I was when I'd wave at her jogging by.

I'd had to ignore Karen's amused face when I had walked up to Violet. I never introduced myself to new clients. But my actions were not mine around her. I mean, for fuck's sake, my whole life was about training to be able to perfectly control my mind and my body. But this woman messed with my head on a whole other level.

Fuck me. I was in big trouble.
