Once upon a time in a mini-mansion lived a girl by the name of Blaire Sloane. She always wore a red hoodie anywhere she went and soon picked up a nickname. Since Blaire was little, people called her Little Red Riding Hood. Don't ask me where the "riding" part came from, I'm only telling the story. Blair was an active child and she was a joy to the people living in her neighborhood. Everyone loved her but nobody loved her more than her best friend Nathaniel. Nathaniel was your classic cute kid who Blair was sure would turn out as a player. Nathaniel was this chocolate-skinned child with dimples, long curly hair and hazel eyes. He was cute and knew it even as a little kid he would use his looks to get girls to play doctor with him. Even then it was always only one girl he wanted to play his nurse...Blaire. She was this chocolate girl with smooth skin, long hair, dark brown eyes, and a nice pretty smile that complemented her pretty doe shaped eyes. Even as kids Nathaniel had a crush on her.

They continued playing together outside every day and in middle school, they began playing in each other's houses. Eventually, they stopped playing and began watching movies together or just talking for hours and hours. One day they even sat doing each other's hair. Things were perfect and neither of them ever wanted them to change. Then one day while chilling at Blaire's house soon after her mom made brownies and brought it to them, Nathaniel soon freaked and left in a hurry. From that day Blaire never saw or talked to Nathaniel again. That was when they were 13. Both were still in 7th grade.  She kept hoping he would come back, but when her birthday, which was the day after his, passed and she heard nothing from him, she knew she'd never see him again.

That memory fresh in Blaire's mind as she gets ready to celebrate her 18th birthday. That was 5 years ago. This year she didn't wish for her friend to come back, she wished to enjoy life.
