The 18th Birthday-Some Like it Exciting (Part 1)

Nathaniel POV

I miss Blaire. I wish I could explain what happened but it's too risky right now. Maybe soon but today is her birthday...I got her a present just like I have every year for the past 5 years. I just hope I learned to control this well if not I will never see her again. But today I'm gonna take a chance. I just hope there's no chocolate around. I saw on her Instagram that she's going to this place called Savvy, I plan to show up just long enough to see her and drop her presents off. But I can't let her see me. I'm scared to honestly. I know she won't remember me.

Blaire's POV

I hear squealing coming down the hallway. It's getting louder and closer. I brace for impact as Jadelynn attacks me in a bear hug lifting me off the ground slightly as she squeezes me and squishes my face with hers. Surprising that she could lift me being I tower over her with her 5'4 self compared to my 5'6. Well maybe I don't tower over her but still, I'm taller. Anyways, she finally lets me go and wishes me Happy Birthday in like 5 different ways and languages and then she tells me to close my eyes. So we go through this every year on my birthday...she tells me to close my eyes and I wait excitedly as she gives me my gift which normally consists of her latest artwork and food. I love her to death but she's predictable. So I close my eyes and hold my hand out waiting for a canvas to hit my hands, and just as I expected...a canvas? But this canvas is heavy and big. Wait this isn't a canvas, it's a bag. A Victoria Secret bag at that. A big one. Being that she has work-study 3rd and 4th block, I suspect she went shopping. I love her I swear I do. I finish packing my bookbag and close my locker just as Kiyus walks up.

Kiyus: Wassup ladies? Ooh something sexy in there for me Blaire? *winks*

Me: Perve,(laughs) but no. You're not my type.

Jadelynn shoots me a look because she knows last year I had a crush on him, but then got over it once he admitted he liked someone else. He knew I once liked him but decided not to call my bluff. Sighing in relief I notice him scoot closer to Jadelynn and rest and arm on her shoulder, she doesn't even protest. Mental note: ask Jadelynn what the hell that was about. She sees my questioning glance and looks down and blushes.

Jadelynn: Soooo Blaire you ready to go, Kiyus and I were gonna drop by your place until time to leave for tonight?

Me: Sure, Kiyus are you gonna change? (I ask while eyeballing his sweatpants and hoodie)

Kiyus: Yeah uh, I'll run home to change right quick then meet you at your place.

Luckily I have the house to myself for at least a month. My dad went on a trip for work and it's out of town, typically when he does this he's gone for about a month or two at a time. So I get to kick it at home alone and I'm not allowed to throw parties but he sends me money every week for food. Jadelynn tends to stay over for a week at a time every other week to keep me company. Mom is gone on another business trip but hers is like a workshop. Anyways time to head home and get ready, but first I need to open this gift from my Chuni.

Me: Chuni!!! come in here and watch me open this gift.

I then hear running up the stairs, a thud then finally she reaches the top and I see Jadelynn bent over panting. She walks into the room and sits on the bed and I go dump the contents of the bag out. To my surprise, it's 4 more bags inside. So it's 5 bags total. I start with the smallest bag it being from Pandora. I open it to find an anklet and matching bracelet with 8 charms on it. The one standing out the most, a red hood charm. But how does she know about that, I never told her about it or about Nate. My thoughts are interrupted by her bouncing on the bed excitedly.

Jadelynn: Do you like it? My favorite is the Red Hood. The cashier there asked who I was buying the bracelet for and I told him your name and he suggested that one. It was weird but then the charm kinda grew on me and I accepted it. He even gave it to me free of charge. I think he said something under his breath but when I asked him about it he brushed it off.

Flashback
Nate's POV

I saw Jadelynn, Blaire's friend come in searching around. No doubt looking for the perfect charms for her best friend for her birthday, 18th birthday at that... it has really been 5 years since I've seen her. I couldn't resist adding my own touch, a red hood. I knew I shouldn't have, I'm sure she knows nothing about me... Oh well.

Me: God I miss you. Soon my Blaire.
Jadelynn: What was that? Did you say something?
Me: Uhm, have a great day.

End of Flashback

Blaire's POV

I finally finished opening all my gifts of so I thought. In addition to the stuff from Pandora, I got a pair of Vans, a new purse from Rue 21, a few new outfits from Forever 21 and various places, and as to be expected lingerie and jackets from VS. I thought this was all until I spotted a new pillow on my chair, I go to pick it up to find a canvas and skittles and cookies behind it. There it is. There's classic Chuni. Now its time to get ready for tonight.

I hop in the shower and when I come out Jadelynn has already picked out our outfits for tonight, and to no surprise, my undergarments too. All the new stuff that she bought. By the time we're both showered and in undergarments, Kiyus is here bursting through the door. I'm completely shocked and immediately grab my towel to cover myself as I run in the bathroom. Jadelynn seems calm. Too calm, wtf? I yell through the door for her to bring me my outfit and she does. By the time I'm finished getting dressed and step out the bathroom Jadelynn is dressed. I paired my outfit with rose nude sneaker wedges and she paired hers with white ones. Jadelynn wore her hair down and curly with three twists on the side and I wore mine with three twists at the top into a bun and the rest down straight. (Outfits above)

Kiyus: So I see that gift was something sexy *wink*

Me: I so done with you right now, dismissed

With that exchange over, Jadelynn and I sit in front of the vanity finishing our hair. Then 30 minutes later and we are ready to go. It's 9:30, perfect timing. To Savvy we go. I've never been before though so I don't even know what to expect. All I know is that we get a party bus and will be meeting a few more friends there so when we leave we are going to a hotel for the night. My parents set this all up so I'm sure of every detail but it should be fun.
