For those who might not get the title, I suggest you rewatch Davie's episode (Season 6 Ep 11). While from what I've read, there is still a bit of a debate of what flower Davie liked. But I read this article and they showed their reasoning for why the blue daisies are the exact flower.

If you know Davie's episode, I think you know what's happening in this chapter.

Trigger- Child's death

America was in the middle of a G8 meeting when his phone went off. France was doing his presentation on cultural mannerisms the others should know but paused when he heard a ukulele and the song "Over the Rainbow" starting to play. Alfred scrambled to find his phone, knowing that specific song was only set to two contacts: Caleb's mom and Caleb's hospital. The nations noticed America's abrupt fuss, but before they could ask America yanked his large smartphone from his pocket. He quickly stormed out of the room, the large oak doors nearly being shattered to splinters. The other nations waited with bated breath for Alfred to return, but only a few minutes passed before they heard America's boots bolt down the corridor. They all exchanged looks with each other, worried about their comrade.

"I can track his phone, he still has his location on," Arthur said, standing up. All the chairs screeched against the floor as they ran from the room.

"Let's go!" Canada continued as they all headed to the front doors. They had just gotten out when they saw Alfred's black Chrysler 300 speeding out of the parking lot, the G8 meeting was going on in Chicago since the world meeting was only four days ago. However, the nations did start paying for their own food and rooms. Everybody got into a car, the Axis carpooling in Germany's navy BMW X5 and the Allies carpooling in Canada's red Ford Edge. The Allies car was leading the way, with Arthur tracking Alfred's phone. A good ten minutes passed before they pulled up to the hospital: Caleb's hospital. The Allies began to feel a pit in their stomach, getting out of their car quickly. The Axis, however, was confused at the panic in the other's faces.

"Vhat is going on? Vhy are ve here?" Germany asked Canada, who jumped at the fact of being addressed by the large man. But quickly straightened out and sighed.

"I think we're aboot to find out, eh. This is Caleb's hospital," all seven of them headed in. They were met with Julia, who recognized the Allies from the performance. She went up to them and sighed.

"Room 562, down the hall to the right. Be quiet, Alfred mustn't know you are there just yet. Just watch him," Julia sounded sad as she walked away. The others rushed down the hall, their footsteps echoing with practiced silenced. They appeared at the glass wall of the room, where the Allies recognized Claire and Cody. They also saw Alfred, holding Caleb's hand and rubbing his forehead. Arthur noticed the mother looking at them, putting a finger to his lip and then pointed to Alfred. She looked and nodded, keeping quiet.

"Alfie?" they heard Caleb say softly.

"Whatcha need, little man?" Alfred replied, hushed by the mood.

"Can you play 'Colors of the Wind' for me? Daddy's never heard you play it, and it's my favorite. I wanna hear it again, it'll make me feel better," Caleb said weakly. Alfred gulped down his sob and nodded. He picked up an acoustic guitar that was right next to him and began to play.

Alfred's voice was so full of heartbreak and pain, it made even Germany and Japan get misty eyed. France hugged Canada close, the two of them quietly crying. Arthur simply offered his handkerchief to Italy, who read the atmosphere for the first time perfectly. China let his tears fall, but no voice escaped his lips. Ivan was sad, yes, but couldn't cry just yet. He was too busy listening to Alfred's angelic voice.

Alfred played for Caleb, singing it with even more emotion than ever before. Caleb smiled softly as Alfred's voice rang so happily in his ears. Once Alfred finished up, he looked at Caleb with glossy eyes. Caleb cupped America's cheek and chuckled.

"What's so funny big man?" Alfred asked, chuckling with him.

"You're my hero Alfie. I'm happy we were friends. I'm sorry I can't keep my promise to you about staying with you. But I know you will be ok. You're strong Alfie. That's why you're my best friend," Caleb then looked up, and his eyes began to shine brightly.

"What do you see Caleb?" Claire asked, noticing her son's vibrant eyes.

"There's a boy up their, with blue flowers. He's saying 'hello' to us. I think it's Davie, he still remembers you, Alfie," Alfred let a single tear slip onto his cheek, "he wants me to come and play with him. Can I go play with Davie mommy?" Claire rubbed her son's head and kissed it.

"Go ahead honey, go play" Claire sobbed. Caleb smiled brightly and closed his eyes.

"I can hear birdies mommy. I can smell grass too. I think I'm going to like play with Davie," Caleb said, getting quieter.

"Go ahead big guy, tell Davie I said hi," Alfred said, leaning his forehead onto Caleb's. He felt Caleb's soft breath, and Caleb felt Alfred's shuttering ones. Caleb smiled brightly, relaxed for the first time. The heart monitor flatlined, and America finally let the rest of the tears fall. They landed on Caleb's face, so Alfred quickly wiped them away, "rest peacefully Caleb, you deserve the world," Alfred said softly hugged the boy's limp body softly. Alfred's body was wracked with quiet sobs as he clutched Caleb's gown softly. Ivan finally began to cry, seeing Alfred finally break. Alfred stayed that way close to a minute before hugging the parents.

"Thank you for everything you've done for us, Alfred. It has meant the world to us," Claire said wiping her tears in her husband's chest. Cody nodded in agreement.

"Danke Alfred. Jour actions vill not go unnoticed, I'd like to pay jou back" Cody began before he was stopped.

"You were overseas for all my people, doing what I love. You were being a hero. And since I'm well aware of how shitty my government is towards you and your comrades pay wise, please allow me to pay for his funeral and cremation. It will bring me closure, and I want this to be no burden to you. You can pick all the details, make it as big or as small as you want. I will pay for anything," he went into his wallet and pulled out his business card, "please, let's keep in contact. You're good people, and I want to help you any way I can" Alfred had a small smile on his lips as he said all this, stunning the couple. They both hugged him tightly before a nurse came in and escorted Alfred out to speak with the parents.

Alfred turned the corner and went to the small private family room, crying quietly. His forehead was in his knees as he rocked slowly on the plush chair. He heard the door open but didn't look up. He didn't want to see anyone right now, that is until he heard a familiar voice.

"Al?" a soft-spoken tone chimed. Al's head shot up and saw all the members of G8 crying, Matthew embraced his brother tightly, Alfred letting his pride fly out the window. Alfred cried a river into Matthew's suit jacket, Matt not caring at all. All of them cried for a while before they left the hospital. The meeting didn't resume until after the funeral since Alfred was with Claire and Cody. The G8 all attended and many other nations like Finland and Belgium appeared for a bit to comfort Alfred and pay Caleb respect.

The thing that broke Alfred was not just the ashes of his fallen friend, but the wreath around it. The one flower Alfred never wanted to see again.

Blue Daisies

It really sucks being a nation sometimes.
