"Your highness wake up!" a high pitched voice yelled. "We have arrived." Sunlight streamed into the carriage making it hard for me to sleep already. The addition of the footman's high pitched voice telling me to wake was not helping with the matter. I rubbed my eyes. The journey had been long and all night I was unable to sleep. The road had been bumpy during the night so I did not get much sleep. It was inconsiderate that everyone was expecting me back in the palace at dawn to be fully functioning. At this moment I wanted to do nothing more than punch the footmen and all the people getting in the way of my sleep. Unfortunately, my arrival at the palace was expected so I stepped off the carriage refusing the footman's arm. The doors swung open and I was greeted by the lovely sight of my mother's disappointed face. I did not miss her.

My father seemed happy for my arrival, unlike my mother so he proceeded to give me a hug.

My mother shook her head in disappointment. "Look at you," my mother sighed. But not in a way typical wistful way mothers would say seeing their daughter after many years.

"I am sorry my robe got disheveled on the way. It was a long journey," I said bowing my head.

"It is not just your robe." Shortly after upon my mother's request a servant brings in a mirror and hands it to me.

I looked at my face. I had undereye circles from a lack of sleep. The rest of my face was puffy. And then my hair. This morning it had been woven in intricate braids but now they had all come undone. I grimaced at my own appearance

"I thought 10 years of training would help you learn to maintain your appearance." My mother sighed and snapped her fingers. A servant came to take me to my chambers. "Today is the reintroduction ceremony so I expect you to fix yourself. "

I nodded meekly hoping that now I would be able to properly rest. I did this despite knowing it was not possible to gain a new face within hours specifically one that my mother would consider worthy of a princess.

"I do not think you fully understand the situation. Today is when you will be getting your portrait done. And all of Busan will see you after ten years. How you look will determine the number of suitors you will get." my mother said.
