Midoriya Izuku's pov ;

I walked out of my cottage, hearing my mom's final goodbyes. As I walked along the path into town, I admire the happiness on people's faces. I then felt a quick stop in my foot, my face suddenly making contact with the ground below.

"Deku! Are you alright?" I heard a familiar voice above me. "Here, grab my hand." I look up and see Bakugou Katsuki. I take his offer and he pulls me up. My face heated up a bit from the encounter.

"Hi Kacchan, what're you doing here? And where's Kirishima?"

"I'm here to guide your clumsy ass into town. And shitty hair is in town admiring the new flowers in the shop," he explains simply.

"Ah, okay." I gave him a warm smile.

His eyes dotted to the side, then he mumbled, "Do you want to go into town with me for the day?"

"What? Sorry, I couldn't hear you," I leaned in to try and hear him better. His head snapped towards me, his face a soft red.

"Are you going into town today?!" he suddenly burst. I jumped a bit, nodding. He crossed his arms and again looked away, "Then I'm coming with you! To make sure you don't trip again, stupid Deku."

I laughed quietly, kneeling down to put my things back into my backpack. "Then let's go, I heard there's a puppet show in town today!" I took his hand without thinking and led the way.

Timeskip ;

"Hey! Bakubro!" I heard Kirishima call over as we were making our way to the town center. I stopped and looked over towards him, seeing his cheering face and his hand raised out towards Bakugou. "These flowers smell so fresh and look so pretty! Come check them out, I think you'll like at least a few--," Kirishima grabbed Bakugou's hand and was pulling him toward where he came from, but then stopped. As he pulled, I felt something pull me along as well. I look down to see me holding Bakugou's other hand rather tightly.

I looked up to meet Bakugou's gaze. Startled, I let go of his hand and jumped back with a saturated red face. "S-Sorry! I didn't know I took your hand earlier! I'll leave you to Kirishima, you probably don't want to go to something as childish as a puppet show anyway," I tried to laugh to cover up my embarrassment, my hand instinctively going to my neck to scratch it.

"Deku--"

"No, no! It's okay. You should've said something earlier! I don't want to make you do anything you don't want to do, that's not fair!" Before he could say anything else, I walked away.

My face cooled down to a soft pink. I mentally face-palmed myself. "Really, Izuku? A puppet show? Why would one of our town's strongest warriors go to something as childish as that," I kept mumbling to myself as I made my way to the town center with my head down.

Bakugou Katsuki's pov ;

My hand stayed slightly stretched out in the direction he walked off to. A tug at my other hand brought me back into reality.

"C'mon, Bakubro! People might buy out the flowers I want to show you!" Kirishima tugged me to the flower shop he ran to earlier. He talked endlessly about each flower displayed, but I tuned him out. Each flower reminded me of Midoriya.

Each one was bright and fully bloomed, this entire shop brought out spring's nice atmosphere. Midoriya always brought the best of me forward, though I'd never admit it to a living soul. I wanted to spend the day with him, I knew that puppet show was today and I knew that he would want to go to it. Thinking of how excited he would get when things like those little shows come to our town made me smile.

Then I heard a horn sound in the distance. My eyes widen as I look up at Kirishima.

We both spoke at the same time, knowing what that horn meant, "Villains."

As mothers and their families ran past us to get to safety, Kirishima ran forward and transformed into his dragon form. He allowed me to hop on, and he flew to where the commotion was-- the center of town.

There were a lot of villains here, but a few fellow warriors. I saw Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki fending themselves off. As Kirishima flew around the area looking for somewhere to land and change back to join the fight, I saw a green tuft of hair from above. I calmed as I watched him take out villains in front of him pretty well until I saw a few sneaking up behind him. I started panicking as he stayed oblivious to the villains behind him.

Without much thought, I hopped off Kirishima and to the ground below, "Deku!"

He looked towards me, "Kacchan?"

As I landed some feet away from him, I ran towards him with my sword drawn. "Look out from behind, stupid Deku!" I started slashing away at the enemies behind him as he continued to deal with the ones in front of him. We stood back-to-back, taking care of each other.

Timeskip ;

I looked across the battlefield, seeing our friends doing well. I turn around to check Deku and I see him on his knees, clutching his side. I almost automatically kneel down towards him to check on his side.

"Deku, what happened?" I asked panicked.

"I.. I guess one of them got me."

"Useless Deku..," I stood up, picking him up bridal style. I take him to where the heroes had gathered.

Uraraka was the first to notice Midoriya's predicament. "Izuku!" Her using his given name bothered me. She ran over to us, "What happened, Bakugou?" She grabbed one of his hands.

I gave her a glare as I replied, "A villain got him during the battle, where's a support hero?"

"They'll be here in a few minutes, the best thing to do is to put Midoriya down and put pressure onto his wound," I heard a voice add from behind us. I turn my head enough to see Todoroki. I nod and set Midoriya down gently. Uraraka kneeled down next to me to keep holding Midoriya's hand. Todoroki joined us on the ground and kneeled on the other side of me as he began applying pressure to the area where a slash caused by a knife was seen and noticeable.

Midoriya winced and grabbed my hand with the one Uraraka was holding. I felt satisfaction knowing that he picked me over her. I looked at his face, his eyes screwed shut. He held my hand tightly. My eyes softened as I held his hand just as tightly.

"You're going to be okay, Izuku. I'm making sure of that," I whispered to him. He opened his eyes a little, smiling at me as a reply. I did the same.

Soon a support hero came and took over for Todoroki. As they cleaned Midoriya's wound and bandaged him up, he was being told to rest for a while to heal. And Midoriya being Midoriya, he instantly tries to sit up to help as the support hero left. I gently pushed him back down.

"No. You're staying down and resting."

"But Kacchan..," he whined, dragging out the 'a'. "I want to help the others."

"You won't be able to help them in the future if you hurt yourself more trying to help them now," he pouted and looked away. I rolled my eyes and looked down to our still-locked hands. My face heated up to a light pink. Then I remembered something, "You never got to your puppet show, did you?"

He stayed quiet for a little bit, then responded with a sad, "No.."

Since the battle broke out in town square, the same place where the show was being held, he never got to see it and it will probably be a while till the next one. I gave him a small smile, "How about we go back to your home and we'll read stories together?" he looked up at me with a big, childish smile.
