The year of 2010
"Come on Chris!! Let's go, we are all waiting to-" I see him sitting on the ground sniffling. I rush over to him, crouching down to his level.
You see Chris is my little five year old brother. He is a little handful. But I love him and wouldn't trade him for the world. We have been very close since he was born.
"What's wrong?" I ask, hugging his shoulders lightly. He lifts up his crocs, his favorite crocs might I add. "They broke sissy, I can't go." he sniffles, wiping the snot off with the back of his small hand.
I smile sadly, "If it makes you feel any better, I can get you some brand new ones, just like your old ones." He looks up at me and frowns. "Hey it's not my fault your feet are growing! You're getting so big!" I laugh slightly, tickling his sides.
He giggles, "Ok." I nod my head, standing up, pulling him up with me. He grabs a pair of flip flops and slides them on. "Come on let's go." I smile as I take his small hand in mine and walk out to the car.
It took about ten minutes to get to the beach, since we didn't live that far from it. "Hey can you drop me and Chris off at the Croc store?" I ask looking at them through the rear view mirror.
They both nod, "Keep your phone on you, and tell us when you are leaving." my dad says looking at me through the rear view mirror. I nod as they stop near the store.
I grab my bag, and unbuckle Chris from his car seat. I take his hand and we walk to the store, my parents leaving to find a parking spot, and most likely to find our usual spot on the beach.
Thank goodness they have this store here. We walk in, spotting the blue crocs, the same ones that he had. "Look sissy there they are!!" he lets go of my hand and runs to them.
I laugh slightly, running behind him. He tries some of them on, finally finding the right size. "So you want these?" I ask. He excitedly nods his head. I smile, grabbing his hand and walking to the cashier counter.
I put them up there, they go to the back and find the other shoe. They put it in the box, ringing it up. "That'll be fifty bucks." the kind lady says. Thank god I have a good paying babysitting job.
I pull out the money handing it to her. I take the bag, and walk out the store, Chris trailing behind me. I take the shoes out the box, handing them to Chris. He grabs them, taking off his flip flops and putting on the crocs.
I grab the flip flops, and the store bag, shoving it into my huge beach bag.
