D#1 Just friends

Ch 3

Naomi

It had already been 1 week after that incident and I hope Kenneth is doing good. I haven't met him. I think I will go today to visit him. I was thinking about Kenneth when I bumped into someone and before I can fall on the floor someone hold me. I looked at the person who was holding me. It was non other than Edwin.

"Naomi what's with you?" He asked.

"What's with me?" I asked him back.

"You have been acting weird this whole week. You also haven't pick up my calls these week. What happened? Everything is okay?" He asked me. I can see he was very concerned about me. I am fool that I had made him wait unnecessarily though nothing had happened with me

"Nothing happened with me. It was just I met an accident-" Before I can complete he cut me off.

"Are you okay? Has something happened to you?" He said and started to check here and there on my body.

"Nothing happened to me. I had hit someone and take him away to his house and I don't know if he is okay or not." I said and he take a sigh of relief.

"I thought you are suffering from fever." He said.

"I am fine. You don't have to worry about me." I said.

"How I can't worry about my one and only true best friend? Who always ready to help me and can do anything for me. I am not stupid that I don't care about my one and only friend on this world friend." He said with lots of worry in his voice.

"Fine fine. Don't get melodramatic and over dramatic and all other drama. I don't like it." I said and he chuckled.

"Fine." He said.

"Where is your girlfriend?" I asked him

"She has not come school today. Why?" He asked me.

"Because if she would be around then she would not let me have you for a single second also. She is so much possessive of you. I wish I had someone like her. Who would be possessive over me." I said dreamily.

"Why you need someone when I am here." Edwin said and I chuckled.

"You are already taken man." I said and passed by him.

"Naomi." I heard my name and turn to get a shock. I saw Kenneth was coming towards me.

"Ken how are you? I was thinking to go to your house to check on you but I met you here only." I said and smiled.

"OH thanks for the concern I am fit and fine." He said and I smiled.

"By the way, do you study in this school only?" I asked him.

"Yeah, for the last year of the school. I am coming over here as I have recently shift and now I am the new one and doesn't know anyone expect you. So please help me." He said and I chuckled. 

"Why not, Ken." I said. "Give me your schedule. I may can help you." I said and he provided me his schedule and found that most of his classes were with me only just like Edwin. His and my passion are same so we both had choose same subjects so he is also in my class as well.

"Your most of the class is with me. Maybe we can become good friends." I said and he smiled. I heard the ringing of the bell.

"Come on. Now let's head towards the class." I said and he nodded and we went towards our First class. Ken sat beside me and after few minutes our teacher entered and started to teach us. In the meanwhile, I was feeling that someone was looking at me. Though I still have the doubt that someone will look at me. Cause most of the time people make fun of me. So I shook off the thought that someone must be looking over me.

After the class was ended. I went straight towards the library. I wanted to make the notes and have to issue some books. This period is free so I can easily utilize this opportunity. I went through the selves and found the two books which I wanted. I smiled and make myself sit on the vacant seat. On which table I was sitting. It was fully vacant. By the way, who even wants to sit with a book worm.

I felt that someone was sitting beside me. I didn't dare to look up because I knew who was sitting. I am very much known with his activities.

"Who was he?" I looked up and looked at him with confused eyes.

"Who?" I asked.

"The person who was sitting beside you." He said and I smiled.

"He was Kenneth Cole." I said to him.

"Do you know him?" He asked and I nodded.

"One week ago, when I was driving back to home. My car almost crash into him. But thank God it was stopped before something had happened to him. So from yesterday I know him." I said.

"So he is the one who was met the accident by your car." Edwin said in a doubting voice

"Yeah. I wasn't hurt at all. It was Ken who was hurt." I tried to tell him.

"I don't give shit about him. I care about you." He said and I shook my head.

"It is not good. I know you don't know him but it is not right thing. Not acceptable." I said and I looked away from him and started to look at my book. I heard a sigh.

"I am sorry. I didn't have the intention to hurt you" He said.

"I know. But still." I said.

"I said sorry." He said and this time I sighed. I can't be angry with him.

"Okay fine." I said and he smiled and we both started to study together. I do enjoy his company a lot. After all he is the only friend of mine. He does protect me from bully and doesn't stand by and make fun of me. He helps me a lot and care about me. But I think there is something more than friendship and I don't want that relationship because I am afraid that he will reject me. So it is better for me to shake those feeling out. This is right. We are just friends.
