Ch 4

Naomi

"Hi Naomi" I heard Kenneth voice. I looked up and found him.  I smiled.

"Sit." I said and he nodded.

"So Kenneth I would like to introduce you my childhood best friend Edwin Stone and Edwin he is Kenneth Cole." I said and they shook their hands but i think that there was tension between them. My phone rang and I excused myself and come out from the library.

"What happened Evan?" I asked him.

"Your sister had met an accident." He said and my eyes went wide.

"What? How? " I asked.

"I don't know but at the way college she came in contact with a driver who was driving the car in wrong lane. And then they both came in car accident." He said and it was like that my heart was squeezing.

"What had doctor said?" I asked him.

"Doctor haven't come out from ICU yet." He said. 

"I am coming to hospital in a while. Send me the address." I said and I hung up and again my phone rang up and my mother call come upon and I picked it up.

"Mom." My sound was barely audible.

"I think you already know what happened with your sister." She said. I could feel that she was crying.

"Mom, I am coming you just wait for me." I said.

"Okay." I said and hung up. I entered and saw that both Edwin and Ken were glaring at each other.

"Edwin,I am going back home."I said and he looked at me with confused eyes.

"Why?" He asked.

"My sister had met an accident and she....she is in hospital." I said and tears also started to run from my eyes and he immediately engulfed me into a hug.

"I will go with you." He said.

"No need. You have classes." I said.

"Nothing is more important than you."He said and I smiled a little.

"Let's go." He grabbed my hand and I felt butterflies in my stomach. He picked up my bag then suddenly I remembered that Ken was with us and I looked at him who was looking at me only.

"I am sorry that I have to get away soon."i said.

"No need to be sorry. You sister life is more important than anything else." He said and I smiled.

"thank you for understanding." I said and he nodded.

"Let's go Naomi."I heard Edwin and he started to drag me and  waved a goodbye to Ken and he waved back with a small smiled.

"What about we tell to principle?" I asked him.

"Don't worry. I will talk with him later." He said and I nodded

"I trust you that you will do that." I said and he smiled at me.

"now let's go.Your sister need you right now"He said and I nodded. He put me in my car.

"Keys?" He asked and I gave him the keys.

"What about your car?" I asked him

"I haven't brought my car today as it had a break down." He said and I nodded. He drove away from the school.  I wasn't on my right mind. My sister is in hospital fighting between death and life. I want just want to beside her. I wasn't able to process where we were going but all I know is that Edwin is with me and he will take me to the correct destination. I smiled at that thought that how much I depended on Edwin when I am in problem. Maybe we couldn't be at that relationship but us being best friend is great rather than those in which a friends dates his friend and left one of them broken hearted.  I just want to spend with him as much time I could get. I had never let my thoughts cross out friendship line. 

"You okay?" He asked and I nodded.

"I am alright. I just want to get meet my sister as soon as possible." I said and he nodded. He grabbed my hand and smiled at me and I smiled back at him.

"She will be alright. You just have the faith in God." He said and I nodded.

"I am trusting God at this moment that he will save my sister." I said and he just smiled. Though I don't know if he knows that what he is doing to me and the sparks which I feel.  I shook my head.  This is not at all good.  This could only effect our friendship.

It doesn't matter if I like him more than those best friends. He have a girlfriend who doesn't like me anyway and finds a way to separate us.  In her words a boy and a girl can never be best friends. One of the fall for other and that is why she keeps me away from him so that I could fall for him. But who will tell her that feelings can't be controlled. They can choose anyone.  I should also divert my mind from him to someone else.  I should stop thinking that we could be something else above this. 

"We had reached the hospital." Edwin said and I looked outside and saw the hospital. My heart was beating fast.  I just want that my sister is alive and is safe and sound.  What could be more great if she is safe and sound.  Nothing could go any better. I come out from the car and waited for Edwin to come back. He came and we go inside together. I came towards the reception.

"Excuse me." I said and the receptionist looked at me.

"Yes?" She asked.

"In which room Ms. Victoria Austin is?" I asked her.

"She is one second floor." She said and I thanked her and ran towards the stairs.  I didn't have the patience to wait for the elevator to come and take me. I just wanted to reach her as soon as possible.

"Naomi go slow." I heard Edwin.

"I can't. I want to see my sister." I said and  climbed all the stairs and was praying that when I reach I will get a good news
